Hi Everyone,

This is 123ski. My name has been changed to skijosh, so that you are all aware, not because of this issue, but for different reasons all together.

I have been getting a ton of messages every day because of some new issues with the 2010 Backcountry.com discount code. I figured it would be easier to post the thread here for everyone that was wondering what is going on. Basically, you may have noticed that the code used to work on specific items, but has now changed and does not work on those items anymore.

Our vendors have told us that we cannot discount their gear anymore. If we don't do what they say, they won't let us sell their gear anymore. We thought that we were in compliance with all of their rules, but the codes were not working correctly and they were giving discounts on almost everything. When we figured it out, we had to hurry and make it right by fixing all of the codes and making new code restrictions.

In all honesty I know that you think this totally sucks, and I agree with you, but at this point we don't have a lot of options, but to comply with our vendors requests. Here is a new list of all the stuff that cannot be discounted at this point in time. I will make the items BOLD if they are somewhat ski related.

Now, most of the brands listed above were already on the list of restricted brands in the past. But, there are some new product categories that cannot be discounted for the same reasons listed above.

SKIING MERCHANDISE (Bindings, Poles, Brakes, Skis, Skins, Gear Sleds, Saws & Axes, Boots, Beacons, Avalanche Gear, Shovels, Probes)

SNOWBOARDING MERCHANDISE (Snowboards, Longboards, Bindings, Boots, Approach Skis, Snow Skates, Beacons, Avalanche Gear, Shovels, Probes)

KAYAKING MERCHANDISE (Kayaks, Rafts, Raft Frames)

I know that this seems like a huge restriction, but I encourage you to continue sending me private messages for the discount code if you don't have it already. Why? You may think that the list above is huge, but remember, we still have everything you need for your skiing adventures, including clothing, gloves, goggles, helmets, camping equipment, hiking gear, etc.

Remember, you can get the discount code by sending me a private message (skijosh) and asking for the code. I will send you the code within a few days of you sending me a message. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them and I will get you an official response. I am sorry for any confusion and trouble with this code, but I hope that it can continue to offer you as much gear as possible at a discounted price!

haha, they were getting mad that you guys were selling it too cheap. that's how I know BC.com is legit. sucks about the new policy though.
 
Ignore everything I wrote about my name changing to skijosh. I am having it changed back to 123ski in order to avoid confusion.
 
Damn, I'm glad I bought gear for the BC last year, got a nice discount on a transceiver.

I PM'd you for the code but I don't need it anymore.

So what do those companies have to say about TD, SAC, Brociety, and WM?

Do those insane prices fall into some other category because it's a ODAT deal?
 
Yes, those prices are not affected at all because it is an entirely different type of business model.

i just got e-mailed that code, ima go buy some crowbars
i bought oakley and patagonia on one of the last days my code worked for it, then it stopped working on everything
 
the code hasnt been working all that well but 123ski told me to chat with a person there and give them the code and theyll make it work
 
i just chatted with someone named Brie, and they said that code expired october 27th, and i asked them for an updated one and they wouldnt help me. is there any way to still get a discount that they didnt tell me? thanks
 
Bumping this as I am still waiting on a response to my PM from two and a half weeks ago for the discount code.

Anyone receive a discount code from 123ski recently?
