Probably the best price point ski available right now - lightweight, pretty durable, good edge hold. I'd go for it for $200.

like what you'll be skiing, height, weight, etc.

if you can still get those nine lives id go for them no doubt. they will be far better than the el rey

Nine Lifes have better construction, its not that the El Reys are bad it just that the Nine Lifes are better (which is why they are more expensive).

if i get el reys will it make that much of a diffrence i am most likley getting el reys either way but.....

you probably wont notice much, Surface Nine Lifes are gonna be a bit softer and poppier than El Reys, and they a have sidewall construction so the edge hold will be better, but the El Reys will be lighter and more durable with the cap construction and S7 base. Its all about preferences, but if you can get El Reys for cheap then go with them, there's absolutely nothing wrong with them, they are a good ski all-around.
