Has anyone skiied this years or last years volkl gotama? I've heard mixed reviews and just want to hear more first hand stuff about them. I read in Skiing magazine that the tails catch because they are so turned up. Is this true?

I dont know much about the sanouk as there is rummered to be only one pair of them here in New Zealand, but I picked them up for the guy that owns them, and I had a good chance to check them out for a week, although havent skied on them yet. The 2005 madel has a carbon fibre side wall. I am not sure if it is actually carbon fibre or not, or if it is just a look alike (I am guessing the second). The Sanouk is a very soft ski - softer then the Gotama. I cant remember if it had the strip of metal on the top sheet like the new gotama and karma. (Looking ont he website it does look although it has)

The Gotama dementions are: 130 - 105 - 122

The Sanouk Dementions are: 130 - 110 - 120

When you look at it this way the Sanouk is simaliar dementions to the gotama, but with the swollow tail it will ski heaps different. The tail sinks sown and the tip stays high. When I had my 183 gotama sitting beside the 193 Sanouk, it made my gotamas look like babies.
