Drove through malibu last weekend and gas was 2.99 a gallon. At least down here in Ornage County its significantly cheaper at 2.70 a gallon.

 
^ yeah shit, I saw it at .94 something the other day in ontario as well... it's getting ridiculous.

yeah i was in toronto like a year ago and i filled up and it ended up being like $24 for my civic. i only put in 9-10 gal. ur strokin up in CAN

actually there are 3.7854118 liters in a gallon, so at .94 cents a liter, you are paying 3.56 a gallon CANADIAN dollars, now convert that to US dollars and you are paying 2.87 US a gallon....

 
i had to fill my tank the other day (usually i just put like $10 or $15 in it at a time, but i was feeling daring...) - fucking $33 for 12 gallons. i swear, i'm moving to iowa or something.

I am more or less chosing to park my jeep till I either start making more money or gas goes down a little bit. it was costing me damn near 60 bucks to fill it up. I am just glad I have a little rice burner to drive around when I need too.

 
Jack if you are really interested in saving money on gas, I think the only place left to move is saudi arabia.

 
It costs my girlfriend $70 to fill up her gas tank for MAXIMUM of 2 weeks of driving.

I go to school in Malibu, my truck gets 8-10 miles to the gallon, I filled up the other day at $2.74 a gallon for $77 bucks. I think it's about time to get rid of my old truck and get something more fuel efficient.

Calling this about the Iraq war is a massive oversimplification... but whatever. I came in here to point out that in Vancouver, we're lucky to get it below 1.00/l, and it was 1.06 near me yesterday. That's 4.02 cdn or 3.23 USD. Not good!

bush is an idiot. he set all these regulations for gas mileage on cars and then said if the car weighs over 1200 pounds it is exempt from these regulations. due to the fact it can be assumed that this weight is due to the carrying of large loads and carpooling. it is not. it is rich housewives who drive around in fucking hummers and he knows that. and yes US gas prices affect canadas because of OPEQ. Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

GO HYBRID you can still get hybrid suvs with 30 more mpg

its like $5.80 US a gallon in London. Maybe you should move to Venezuela. 12 cents a gallon.

When you think about it though, think about how much we pay for bottled water. We're getting a better deal on the gas.

Ignorance, maybe not. However, you are blatantly incorrect about why oil prices are soaring through the roof. President Bush is not responsible for the amount of oil there is to consume nor is he in favor of keeping oil prices high. High oil prices do nothing but tear the ecomony into pieces and violently crush the functional dollar and morale of the American (or other nationality) people. It is in the best interest of any government to keep oil prices low. Businesses suffer from these price increases too, thus it costs more for businesses to just OPERATE, let alone make PROFIT.

GEORGE BUSH IS THE EPITOMY OF PROFIT. PART OF THE REASON WE INVADED IRAQ IS TO CONTROL THEIR RESOURCES TO STABILIZE OIL COSTS

That guy has some good points, but he is a doomsday looney. I've read the whole thing, it is interesting, but I have more faith in science and humanity with a mission. I think when the people of earth finally realize that we can't consume just to consume (which we all do, myself DEFINITELY included) and that we will face modern civilization decay, we will find a way.

Hopefully, we will be more proactive than that, though. We have other options, but the people in power would rather be rich and the masses would rather be comfortable.

WORD. I didn't hit on that because I was gonna try and stay low-key, but that really is a huge factor. China is industrializing at a rapid rate with most of their power derived from coal and oil. The shear size of that country alone coupled with its economic/urban/etc. modernization is enough to bury third world countries in poverty for the rest of time.
