ive drank from 2 different bottles of dom but both were before i knew that the date might be relevent so i cant really relate... as for price both of the ones my parents had were bought for about 150 and were bought at half price as my uncle owns a liquor store.

on side, cool, dark to avoid oxidation and quality defects but explain to me how old wine can get you sick?

By not storing it properly... thats the thing with old wines, you have to take care of them so they dont dry out. cause all the ingredients will separate in a way and fall to the bottom of the bottle if stored upright. and they wont mix back together.
