19/20 chronics and blends

This is quite a vague request, but could anyone throw out some personal experience/opinions on how they found this years chronics and blends.

Both are unchanged from last year, with the Blend having been the same for a long time now. Chronic is a more all mountain shape than previous years, little bit wider too. Fun ski, not quite as soft as the Blend and a little bit more capable in the all-mountain department imo. The Blend is super fun if you’re playing in the park all day, super soft and surfy. Not super stable at speed (again, my opinion), so not as strong of an all-mountain ski. Depends on what you’re looking for!

Both have extra thick edges and bases, they’re pretty durable

sweet, sounds like the chronic is for me

I'm mostly a park rat, but will be doing my lvl 2 sometime this winter

Im 90% sure the chronic is softer than the 2018-19 version. Last years werd mad stiff. I have only had one pair of line skis and it was the 2018-19 chronic. Ive hand flexed the 2019-20 (this years) and it feels like their og recipe.

As for durability I had the ski start to delam at the fatty part of the tip within 5 days of riding. Ive had to epoxy it multiple times.

When I first got them I took the edge undefoot to my shops base grinder (glorified sand paper) and rounded the edges until they were so detuned you couldnt cut the crust off the pb&j your mother made. Ive had about 30 days skiing brightons park. No edge crackes for the first 10 days. Then a hairline crack (no pullout, seperation oreven a burr) Then on day 29 I got another edge crack on other ski and the entire sidewall started separating. Skis will be lucky if they last 5 more days. Seems like they went great to busted real quick.

Ive had skis with 6 plus edge cracks on the inside edge with no sidewall delam. Having it separate with just 1 crack and no significant impacts is pretty annoying.

In my experience I would give their durability a 6/10. Not the worst Ive ever had but definitely not the best. Seems like more epoxy during the layup would solve a lot of the issues I had.

Take my word with a grain of salt tho. No ski is built exactly the same every time. And everyone rides their skis differently. I may have just gotten a shitty pair. Luck of the draw type of thing.

Before anyone mentions it, I take good care of my skis. Detuning underfoot when you first get them is key. Bring your skis inside when your done for the day. Check your ski after skiing them every time. File and gum stone edge burrs, and epoxy delams asap. Switch what ski you put on each foot every time you step in. Doing these things will extend the life of the ski by a large margin.

My shop thought it was fit to submit a claim so they did

the skis literally look brand new

line said it was "rail damage" and would not warranty anything

never in a million years will I buy line again

Not a fan of that ski at all. Super stiff but not super poppy. Bad durability and definitely on the heavier side

I felt a nice flex and pop, but I'm with you on the weight and durability lol
