im 5'10 135 i ski crystal mt. i am a 3+ skier. this will be mainly used as a pow/ charger ski. right now i am skiing on a 172 sfb, i know its really short. and a 175 joystick for park.

as always +k for helpful input.

just thought of this. i do it all. ii like to play around in the trees, go down open faces, hit cliffs, and hit jumps. i know that k2 has a reputation of measuring long. but how long? would 179 be fine?

pettitors are true to length. You are pretty in between sizes so you should definitely consider both. I ski the 179s and im 5'8 145, they feel almost perfect.

sometimes if the snow is heavier or if I am hitting bigger cliffs. But i ski in Alberta so the snow is so light they definitely have enough float for me.

ive heard they are the stiffest ski in the lineup? do you agree with this. how are they to play around in the trees? hows they swing weight?

They are quite stiff throughout the camber but get quite soft at the tips. They are definitely stiffer than the other k2s but the recoils and sights are quite stiff too. I can whip around 7's on decent size jumps and 3's on medium-small cliffs no issue so the swing weight is pretty good, I'm not a super fast spinner.

dude, big ski. I'm 6'0 and ride a 185 patron, and I feel like thats the perfect size for me. but like every ski, you just kinda gotta learn to ride it. Im sure you could charge on those, it just might be a big step up from your shorter skis.

I'm 6', 180lbs, and I ride 179 Hellbents and Kung Fujas'. I feel as if the 189's would be taking you for a ride a lot

what binding do you have on them? im only 135 so i dont need that burly of a binding? suggestions? i dont want to spend a whole lot of money. but i want a good binding. + k for the help this far!

I always use STH 14 drivers but I think a good choice for you would be sth2 13s, a little less heavy duty, still durable, cheaper and easier to find.

do you think that a marker binding would work? i know they have a bad rep. but i have never had any problem with bindings ever. i have markers on my bacons and they are alright, just too much plastic for my liking. but the binding that i have on them are a older 12 din free ski binding.

they are all right, the jester and jester pro are pretty good but I have had lots of issues with the griffons on skis before. Salomon are more reliable and just better.
