188 al dente or 186 filthy rich?

I'm 6'3 175-200lbs depending on how much i've been eating and exercising. i demoed the fr and loved it, super buttery and playful but also very charge-able. the al dente looks super fun as well so i'm looking for some input on the two skis.

what type of skiing do you do? if you skis at least semi regularly i would stay away from the al dentes. paper thin edges on those suckers in contrast to the beefiest edges on a pair of park skis in the filthy riches.

the skis are pretty different though... al dentes are very soft while on3p makes a relatively stiff ski. they also have elliptical sidecut and the al dentes are a little fatter.

thanks! i got around 150 days this year and plan on doing the same for next year so thats good to know that the al dentes aren't very durable. i'm just looking for a ski that can butter really well with little to know effort but still hold up charging through moguls, biggish jumps and the occasional disaster onto rails, for a guy my size. i figured that if henrik can nose butter triple on the al dented they're going to be fine with whatever i'm doing, but the filthy riches were super fun so i just wanted to see if anyone had a good comparison between the two.

at your weight and with the early rise on both pairs of skis, i wouldn't worry about being able to butter. the al dentes will probably be a little easier to flex but i don't think you'd have a problem on either. whereas filthy riches will intrinsically be more stable on jumps due to the fact that they're a bit more stiff.

concerning edges: if you would like proof, take a look at some of the posts from the on3p guys and from user "Twig" in this thread:

on3p has 2.5mm x 2.5mm edges standard on all their skis.

the al dentes have approximately 2mm x 1.3mm edges according to twig's measurements.

this means that the FR's have 6.25mm^2 of edge, whereas the al dentes have only 2.6mm^2. after watching my buddy rip through his al dentes edges to where they're unusable in under 40 days while i'm at over 120 days on my jeronimos with several cracks but no pullouts, i'd say the numbers do translate to real life.
