But on a serious note: I had absolutely no intention in voting, because 1: One vote doesnt make a difference, blablabla..2: i have no knowledge on the issues and feel irresponsible voting.BUT, my mom showed me this tool that CBC has made available that asks you 30 questions based on the important issues in this election and tells you who you are closest to. I think its pretty useful so im sharing it with my adult Canadian Newschoolers, hope it helps!

PS, apparently im closest to Liberal with BQ in second (and i dont think i could ever vote for BQ), so take it with a grain (obviously)

that tool is completely biased fyI for drumrolllll the liberalsss! wow! who woulda guessed. lol

anyways i dont know who im gonna vote for yet, to be honest i wanna vote to get the "youth votes" statistics up, but none of the clowns up there deserve to be elected. all the party leaders are fucking goofs. A decent man needs to step up in the next few years or shits gonna hit the fan lol (as it has been lately)...

Or tank the economy with the NDP and Greens or flood Canada with unskilled immigrants with the Liberals? But all joking aside Im glad you are just voting regardless of who it is, not enough young people vote.

i dont want young people voting if they dont know whats going on, thats the thing.

Rick Mercer's rant about young ppl voting was pretty powerful though

that seems sketchy to me. what if they fixed it so that it would tell you to vote for whoever they want to be PM lol

Yeah was some pretty scary stats on the Globe the other day about young voters 18-25 on how they would vote if they voted. It turns out the Greens and NDP would be official opposition with the Tories reduced to 20 something seats while the Liberals would maintain the official party but not by much. That is fucking scary! The Greens and NDP in control of our government, holy fuck, talk about kissing our industry and economy good bye. The problem is exactly what you mention, kids think "Well the greens want to legalize marijuana so i will fucking vote for them" Im good with keeping it Libs vs Tories for a long time to come.

The whole "One vote won't make a difference" thing actually makes a HUGE difference because what if there are 5 million people like you that say that. thats 5 million votes lost that could have been used to good. Like the Conservatives ;)

Seems like it, I responded with some of the most right wing responses(which I believe in) on things like military spending and immigration( I think both are important) and I still got Liberals. Especially when I said increase military spending and it's no secret the Libs want to cut funding from them.

I dont know exactly who I am voting for, but I know I am not voting conservative, bloc (no rep), or green (no chance of winning in our riding). I will most likely be voting against harper, rather than for someone else. I do think the liberals would do well though.

i am a liberal. but right now ignatiuf is fucked and i dont want harper back in wasting all our tax money on "super jails" when the crime rate is going down... also his latest budget was rediculous and had nothing that was asked for by the libs and the NDP. so no vote.

not being a canadian, i answered the questions in a moderately conservative fashion except for the question about marijuana possession and it got me perfect as a conservative.
if it placed you as a liberal, you answered the questions in a liberal manner. i would suggest you take a look at where you stand on some of the issues.

I hope people aren't retarded enough to actually think they will because they won't, and what do you have against the NDP? I mean sure they would spend money that we don't have like every other government but thats about as bad as it gets.

So a Liberal is an anti-immigration advocate, increasing military spending, keeping marijuana illegal, tax cuts for the big corporations, increasing military presence in the arctic?

because layton and olivia chow will rent out 24 sussex drive and live in subsidized housing instead. when obviously they shouldn't be.

For all those thinking of not voting...instead of doing this consider spoiling your ballot. It's illegal but the chance of being found out is basically zero.

You are aware that the tar sands don't make as much money as you think. There is a shit ton of money that goes into it compared to other oil operations.
Tar sands= completely unnecessary for our economy to survive.

The tar sands is what the pinnacle of out economy revolves around, raw materials and minerals. To effectively kill the tar sands is to effectively be against most of which our country depends on.

Check off every box, add a new one or draw a picture. It shows that you care enough about Canadian politics to show up but dislike all of the representatives, leaders or parties. At least that's my understanding.

Yeah I only just read on CTV that it's illegal but the only way anyone could find out is if you burned, ate or yelled it out or something.

conservative 100%. what the fuck would get done, otherwise? yeah, liberals, lets put a tax on fucking ipods. yeah, ndp, lets give more money to health care so we can put more doctors in the hospitals that already don't have enough room for the patients that are in them. overflow is due to a lack of hospitals, not doctors. why dont you waste my money more, thanks.
national defense in an important thing, balancing the budget is an important thing. social programs so that people who dont want to work can have freebies is not. should be an obvious choice, but unfortunately there are too many hippie art kids out there who want to reap the benefits of the working class. fuck you, maritimes and your superficial views on how a country should be run.
give the conservatives a majority so that everyone else will just die.

The tar sands only account for 44% of all oil produced in Canada. Yes we produce raw materials and finished materials, oil is on that list but it isn't at the top of it.

Yes I understand that it is a big number, removing it wouldn't make everything else fall apart though.

the marxist-lenist party of canada.

jk but really tough decision. I have to vote this weekend cause i'm working the election. Yeah i get to tell people what to do !

44% is a huge number I agree and it would have devastating effect on our economy. But we can't keep pitting the environment against economics. There needs to be a better effort for sustainable.

I felt the same way, but our military's current jets are something like 30 years old. If we are going to continue to have a military and play a role in global peacekeeping then we need to update the jets. If young canadians are going to step up to the plate and go over sees to do something like that then I believe they deserve to have good equipment. Aside from that, the fact that the contract wasn't tendered out is completely illogical, and that has to be addressed.

I agree 100%. Our brave men and women deserve the very best equipment and lets not forget that it was the liberals who committed us to these planes.

i picked the moderate versions of all of those, except marijuana which i chose a very liberal stance, and it put me as a conservative, as it should.
all i'm saying is that if you picked mostly conservative views it would place you that way. you picked out maybe what, 5 of 30 questions where you answered conservatively, although i was the polar opposite on the marijuana issue, maybe the majority of your answers were liberal.
the survey isn't trying to trick you.
