179 vs 189 hellbent

probs be used for pow and park and will be mounted with marker jester schizo so will be center mount for park and further back for pow. im 6'1 150lb, ski whistler

i'm your height and i just got atomic bent chetlers which seem to do the trick for powder... 189 might be a bit much to throw around in the park if you're serious about skiing them there, so the 179 might be a better bet unless you ski very little park compared to powder and all mountain,

BTW, if this helps, 179 hellbents measure 183~184
 
I would say 189 if your going to centermount and use them in pow. The extra lenghth will be good in the deep stuff and the centermount and rocker will balance them out on the park. And at your hieght the 189 would be perfect.
 
I am 5'11 and rock the 189s. They are huge, but centermount they are fine. You probably won't be able to huck them in the park like a park ski, but they are super steady in the air and landings, and arent as bad as you would think. I have taken them on one box and it was fine. it almost felt like I was just standing on the box they are so wide.

They dominate the pow though.
 
At 150lbs go with the 179. As has been mentioned it actually measures out at around 183cm. Maybe if you were 175ish lbs 189 would be good.
 
I saw the 189's in person and they are huge. I am 5'11" and they were well above my head. never seen any others in person though. i would go for the 179 if I was in your position.
 
im 5'10' and ride 179s mounted true center. some people are saying they measure to 183-184 but its a little longer than that, standing next to my bacons, which are 182, they are still a sold 4-5cm taller. I ride them all over, park pow chop you name it and they are a lot of fun, never had any tip dive in pow. However, they do flex a lot in low angle soft snow, meaning the tip kind of flexes up and acts like a brake, forcing me to go a little backseat to maintain speed. I do not know if this is just because i have them mounted forward, or just because the ski is soft. Besides that I have no complaints and I would definitley go with the 179s. The 189s are going to be fucking windmills in the air.
 
im 5 11 and weigh around 145 lbs and i have a pair of 179 bents and they keep me afloat perfectly especially in the deep days... if your going to just ski pow and NOTHING ELSE id say 189 mounted 2 or 4 back but if you wanna throw flips and ski park like i do but still shred the pow get the 179s... i was surprised how well they handled boxes and rails... either way your going to love these skis
 
I am your size, I had a growth spurt from 5' 5" when i bought the 169 Hellbents so now surprisingly they aren't bad. A little divey when I go slow but they still float awesomely.
 
same position, but i have some anthems so im not to worried about the whole hellbents are shit on groomers just would the jj's be better in pow than the bents??? will be using them in whistler next season if that helps?
 
In pure pow, I've never skied anything like 189 bents. But they are long and particularly heavy, and because of your weight I would say the 179s (which really measure 186).
