177's ok?

hi, I'm looking into buying the Volkl Walls in a 177. I'm 6 feet tall, ca 165 pounds, and a fairly aggressive skier..

doing mostly park.

I could go 185 though, but I'm afraid that it would feel a bit ankward at rails and the relatively small jumps we've got.

Thx for any input.

177's are alright, I'd actually go 185 because they are center mounted though.

I'm 5'9 145. lbs and ride 178 Anthems and they are perfect. They rip park and all mtn. especially groomers.

I also ride Bacons (184) mounted -2 cm from true center for pow and they are great, I also ride them park sometimes and they are actually really fun, stomp landings perfect, haven't tried them on rails though.

So I'd go 185's because they are center mounted and they will be great in the park and good all mtn. and groomers as well if they are 185, rather than 177. I mean in reality the difference is only 4 cm in the tips and 4 cm in the tails, so it's not gonna be huge if you go bigger.

yeah.. I'm really in doubt, but I've heard that they are pretty stiff, so I thought that the 185 cm + the stifness would feel a bit big for rails and smaller stuff.. not sure tho

i'm in the same dilemma for size for next season. 177's or 185's. but i'm 5'8" and 155 lbs. for you, if you're a good skier, 185's would work. but i'm lighter and shorter than you, so i'm still contemplating for me.

Definitely 177's because of stiffness. I love my 178 Anthems and they are hella flexible. I was even used to a pretty much race ski (few years ago had a stiff carver before twins haha)

To thread creator, if you are a strong skier I'd go with 185's if you are a medium level skier I think 185's would still work. Do you plan on riding stuff other than park on them?

^

I'll prolly ride groomers, trees etc with them.. but they will be my park skis, so I mainly focuse on how they handle on rails and jumps..

like the guy above me said... if you know you're an excellent skier, i'd go for the 85's. if you're an intermediate skier, i'd go 177 probly. they'll be light and you can certaintly throw them around, and you'll still get plent all mtn. performance.

Definitely go with 185's. You are throw 10's according to your profile, and you have 182 TM's which are not even symmetrical. You seem like you know what you are doing so I'd definitely go with 185's.

I am your exact height and weight and I got the 177's....love them...I ski 80% park and they're great on both rails and jumps, if I could go back I would still by 177s
