16x9 IG video export settings

yo so I've been shooting DV tapes 4:3 for a while and shit looks good on IG. but, just got an HVX200 that shoots 16x9 720 or 1080 and can't figure out the fuckin settings for a proper IG video. It always looks horizontally stretched and the sides of the video are slightly cropped.

if someone could send me a screenshot of their premiere pro export settings for HD, it would be much appreciated

thanks

Make sure when you export that the pixel ratio is square ratio, that's probably the only thing I could imagine would make your exports funky.

Here are my typical export settings. 20-30MBPS is pretty high you could go down to 10 and it wouldn't lose too much quality. VBR 2 Pass takes a longer time to encode but it's really nice. VBR means variable bit rate and the 2 pass means it takes 1 pass to figure out where to put the data and a second pass to actually put it where it belongs (basically saves data in boring parts of the video for parts with more detail that need higher bit rates).

Thanks man! for some reason I thought that a full 1080p video wouldn't be grammable, and i'd have to scale to a smaller (but equivalent) ratio to make it work , I bet thats what messed it up. I bet if i just exported at the sequence settings of the footage at .h264 with square pixels it would work.

Thanks again!

Ye those are just my regular export settings for any web videos but it worked for Insta too last time I used the gram so I don't downscale or whatever.
