As of Saturday November 10, 2012, 15 States have petitioned the Obama Administration for withdrawal from the United States of America in order to create its own government.

States following this action include: Louisiana, Texas, Montana, North Dakota, Indiana, Mississippi, Kentucky, North Carolina, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, New Jersey, Colorado, Oregon and New York. These States have requested that the Obama Administration grant a peaceful withdrawal from the United States.

These citizen generated petitions were filed just days after the 2012 Presidential election.

Louisiana was the first State to file a petition a day after the election by a Michael E. from Slidell, Louisiana. Texas was the next State to follow by a Micah H. from Arlington, Texas.

The government allows one month from the day the petition is submitted to obtain 25,000 signatures in order for the Obama administration to consider the request.

The Texas petition reads as follows:

The US continues to suffer economic difficulties stemming from the federal government’s neglect to reform domestic and foreign spending. The citizens of the US suffer from blatant abuses of their rights such as the NDAA, the TSA, etc. Given that the state of Texas maintains a balanced budget and is the 15th largest economy in the world, it is practically feasible for Texas to withdraw from the union, and to do so would protect it’s citizens’ standard of living and re-secure their rights and liberties in accordance with the original ideas and beliefs of our founding fathers which are no longer being reflected by the federal government.

As of 12:46 am, Sunday, signatures obtained by Louisiana, 7,358; Texas, 3,771; Florida, 636; Georgia, 475; Alabama, 834; North Carolina, 792; Kentucky, 467; Mississippi, 475; Indiana, 449; North Dakota, 162; Montana, 440; Colorado, 324; Oregon, 328; New Jersey, 301 and New York, 169. Many more States are expected to follow.

A petition is not searchable at WhiteHouse.gov until 150 signatures have been obtained. It is the originator's responsibility to obtain these signatures.

The Texas petition can be reviewed and/or signed by clicking here.

Shit, I could get 150 people to petition the US to make it illegal to eat anything but Cocoa Puffs for breakfast. Doesn't mean it would get anything done

On the contrary, I feel that our political system needs some cocoa puffs. How does one make bad decisions after cocoa puffs. we should also require Dunkaroos before House meetings.

Pathetic statement about the absolute absurdity of the fringe right in America. Those people are an embarrassment to humanity.

The White House has said that if any petition receives at least 25,000 signatures in 30 days it will consider it, though they said the same thing about a Marijuana petition before..they didn't give it any thought.

Interesting to see though, Texas is going in. Amount of signatures since the article was posted have absolutely exploded.

As the top comment said, "The headline should read, "An Insignificant Number of Fringe Retards in 15 States File Meaningless Petitions". That would be accurate....."

God some people are stupid. Let them fucking secede, and then tell them to fuck off when they get hit by a hurricane and come back begging for FEMA assistance.

He was a badazz though

Can they even find 25,000 people from Louisiana, Mississippi, or Kentucky that are literate enough to sign their names?

I've said this before, fuck the south and annex canada. keep the 50 state attractiveness of round numbers, acquire bc, lose racists, acquire good weed, lose old people, acquire more maple syrup, acquire hockey talent, acquire skiing talent. genius.

Haha Texas is already at 13,000. I can't be a good feeling to know that around 1 out of 2 people hate you or disagree with what your doing.

Or the librul president and his librul title as Commander in Chief of the librul Army and Air Force and Navy and Marine Corps.

I would also be remiss if I neglected to mention that the president is a negro. I suppose that means he only get's to control 3/5 of the country?

(inb4 shitstorm, this is sarcasm)

how do you sign the colorado petition? i think colorado would make a great country of its own. fuck it ill sign.

Louisiana Pop. as of 2011: 4,574,836 ; divide 25000 by this number = .00546% of the total pop

Texas Pop. : 25,674, 681; divide 25000 by this number = .00007372% of the total pop

Montana : 998,199; = .025%

North Dakota : 683,982 = .0365%

Indiana :6,516,922 = .00383%

Mississippi : 2,978,512 = .00839%

Kentucky : 4,369,356 = .00572%

...... ..... .......

so its saying that its feasible for each state to get less than 1% of its citizens signatures to be credible in order to secede from the U.S.?

1) Even if this were true, there would be no way the senators and congressman of these states, Especially Jersey, Oregon, New York, and Colo- fucking -rado, would allow this to happen as they still need a larger economic resource to be stable or they'll fail just like last time

2) i'm calling bullshit.

are you serious? I'm pretty sure he's commander and chief of the armed forces so he can kinda pull rank on them and they've been listening to him pretty well for the past 4 years. Don't believe me? Ask Bin Laden

this is so fucking pathetic. people are all butthurt because Romney didn't win, hell I voted for Romney but I'm still going to stand by my president even though I don't agree with all his values. I hope this is a joke, I really do, I want to know what goes through somebodies mind when they thinking breaking apart a country will gain them something.

But the FFL is only a part of the French military. I am saying that the majority of the armed forces would support the USA and consequently Obama. Sure there would be some who wouldn't but that's to be expected
