13 years old...

To start out I will say your friend is a superb skier with a bright future

However, and this is in no way directed at your friend,

but

I'm so tired and bored of edits with the same tricks from kids who grow up in the park and can seldom go down a black (Once again, your friend may be an excellent all around skier, not directed at him)

I feel the sport is heading as a whole in this direction which saddens me because there is so much outside the park which is just as, if not more than more fun, which is not being given the attention it deserves

End my little crappy rant/

I am tired of all the people who make stupid ass arguments against park skiing.

I couldn't agree with you more. But the kid is 13, he is obviously going to be skiing a ton of park. When he gets older he will understand. So will everyone else that just skis park. Even if it isn't until they are in there thirties, everyone finds out sometime, partly because they get to old for park, and because they just get bored with park. Just let people do what they do.

my brother tried skiing twin tips for the first time. he had barely ever skiied before, and was pretty much a beginner. after a few runs, he decided to the this ride on beginner box. he was having alot of trouble, and even after he kind of slid it a few times, he said the 20 feet of inrun was scaring him more than the box.

to say that a park skiier really can't ski, is ridiculous. you have to know exactly where your skis are all the time. it is more difficult than anyone would think. it is not just straight lining a jump and sliding a rail.

that is just as much skiing as any "black diamond"

At the mountains I ski at...a lot of the park skiers are better than anyone else on the slopes. most of these kids used to be racers and are up on the hill every weekend. they get sick and tired of racing so get a pair of twin tips and have at it. when they decide to hit an actual run they tear it up
