How can they even call this ski the chronic anymore? It is a completely new design and is totally different from every other chronic except for dimensions.

Pls tell me you're not stating that Armada INVENTED this thing? Capwall, partial sidewall etc etc. Whatever the name is, it has been around for way more than 3 years by most major ski companies, mostly in intermidiate level skis for regular skiing, but have been around in twintips also. As basic a construction as cap or sidewall alone.

And yeah i too was bummed from the construction change but can't wait to test the new version of the Chronic next season. It might not be as hard-charging as it has been before but i think it'll be even more versatile and kick ass as much as my previous Chronics have.

ridden multiple skis with the cap/sandwhich construction....can't say im a huge fan of it kinda inconsistent flex i prefer just overall sandwhich

The new chronic still feels like the old chronic in the way it turns and flexes. The only things i noticed... it is lighter, it butters better(early rise) and the top sheet holds up better. Also the transitional side wall to cap has been used forever. The original trouble makers had it and that was 2003.

Rossi has been using it for almost a decade. Best construction in my opinion. Wish I could afford to replace my cryps with the new ones!

yeah armada is by no means the creator of cap/abs construction. they would like to think so just like how the whole 5 dimensional lawsuit went

Just wait until you see their product page in Powder Mag. Everything says "patented" on it. (Coming from an Armada supporter) it comes off as pretty cocky.
