its christmas break. time for lots of skiing. ohh by the way, were going out east for christmas (we have a cabin in quebec, a few hours north of ottawa). anyone know if theres some snow on the ground?

Yeah 1080s rule. I took them everywhere at Whistler and they performed, deep steep pow, ice, crud, eeeevvveeerrrryyything!

 
i love my 1080s.. theyre probably the most versitile skis that are most widely available

I have no idea why some ppl dislike them, they seriously rock. I think its the big 'I hate corporations thing cuz its cool'. Whatever Im down with a good product, dont really care who makes it.

hey, i went to www.salomonskis.com and checked out some of their vids some of the people riding them have some weird 1080's the writing on them is dark while the base is yellow... i was wondering if those are some kinda special 1080's or what ?

 
i disliked they 1080's because they sucked, at least for me. they were slow, sucked for anything i would call even moderate speed, had why too much sidecut, were too soft, and were made like pieces of crap. i demoed a pair and lost 4 inches of the edge. the thing is though i'm not saying that they suck, i'm saying the i think for the way i like to ski they suck. before you say why you can't understand how people could say that they suck, or any ski for that matter, go ski on that piticular ski like they do for a day and see. if you saw it like other people do, you mihgt agree. my 185 fat iggy has a 250 flex, in comparision to a pocket rocket which would be around 200 and an ak launcher which would be around 180. some people might they suck, but for the way i like to ski they are perfect. it is all just relative to how you ski.
