1080 vs Scratch?

I just want some opinions here.

Getting new tt's this winter and I can't seem to make up my mind! 1080 (heard this years 1080 has improved, whatever that means) or the new Scratch from Rossignol.

I've read loads of reviews, specifications etc, etc, but you just dont get anything from that...they're all fab', great, awesome...etc...

Oh, and what are the prices like over there (not the European side of the Atlantic that is...)

I know that you are new, but there has already been about 10 threads recently on this. Just go down the list and onto the next pages in this forum, you'll be sure and find what you are looking for.

They are both sick skis. you can't go wrong.

The Scratch FS has a bigger tip so probably makes it a little smoother on switch hits.

But the 1080 would be more of an all around ski and it's wider base would mean it could even work in powder ( not as good as pocket rockets or scratch BS)

Eat. Sleep. Breathe. Ski.

i think he meant bigger tail, because the 1080's tip is bigger than the scratch's. the salomon rep said that he used the 1080's for a week in utah and they went through everything, including 30 in. of fresh, but just from flexing them in the shop, i can tell they are super soft, so they won't do well in crud. Otherwise, they are super light, fat enough to do pow, and have a nice swing weight because of the spaceframe tech. i don't know much about the rossi, but i hear it's sick too, and the dimensions are really close and i imagine the flex is too. basically, go with whatever you're comfortable with, you'll be happy either way. personally, i'd go with the rossi because it has some wood in the core so it will behave better, all foam cores can break down with heavy use, like 90+days

'it's like that, and that's the way it is.'

Jam Master Jay will be missed. Legends never die, they just change forms.

Same waist (80 mm) if you're talking about the fs that is. Scratch is lighter, Salomon is more versatile.

the new 1080's have a 114mm tip, the fs's have a 110mm tip

The 1080 is not a TRUE twin at tip and tail. They're not turned up as much as others, so if you're doing stuff outside park and landing switch... probably best to go with Scratch

i thought you meant the actual hight of the twin tip like on lines its 56mm and on fs's there 45mm and on 1080's there 35mm

get the scratches, they don't have foam cores like the 1080s, which, after 6 months, will be like skiing on boiled spaghetti
