1000 skis is the worst brand ever

1000 skis is such a shit brand. Mounted a few pairs and they’re made of sawdust and Ive heard many stories of them breaking like blends. The whole brand is the epitome of instagram skiing. The bunch has become nothing but trendy swerving to appeal to the instagram algorithm for marketing. I hate it. Such talented skiers gone to waste. Literally just Tw pros but red. Ski influencers areso infuriating it’s ridiculous

Their skiing style is also dogshit. Every time they move their body they throw their hands over their heads and it looks so stupid. Nick geopper has more style than the bunch

it sucks that people will associate magnus and hackel with tiktok and 1000 skis and not interpretation magnus and eat the guts hackel

Hackel was so sick until the second he got off ON3P. It seems like he just stopped trying to be a skier and pursued his influencer dreams.

Ngl, these guys look like they are having the most fun compared to other pros. If I could travel around and get paid to swerve that’s exactly what I would do. Magnus and hackle have lived through some different style evolutions and yes their skiing is different now but they are both insanely talented. I got no hate towards these guys or 1000 skis. I understand the influencer comments for sure, but idk, how else can you be successful in skiing now? Also, in my opinion, skiers who decide to stick to their same bullshit and make no effort to expand their skiing style and try new types of skiing are just missing out. I love to see that 1000 skis is about more than just rails too. Through 1000 skis we get to see more clips of magnus absolutely ripping some bc lines and bringing the swerve to the big mtn world. Also, skis break no matter what skis you buy. Personally, I know a few people who ride 1000 skis and they all love them. The skis are almost like a butter cheat code tho haha. It’s cool to see how locked in you can get into presses and butters. The homie Bjorn brings his demo 1000’s to local CO resorts and let’s anyone ride them. So far I haven’t seen any of them snap or break.

All good points, I was really drunk when I made this thread lol. I have a ton of respect for those guys and their skiing, I just hate seeing how skiing has become about attention on instagram and these guys are the prime example of that

Yeah the influencer stuff is annoying and cringey for sure but lets not discount that he just spent a full year skiing backcountry and has done a few big mountain competitions. The Bunch comes out with a bangin movie every year and its innovative which means it'll always have haters.

Hg hackel unmatched too, hg was the best ski company

Last year after listening to him on [tag=261399]@OutofBoundsPod[/tag] talking about using 1000 to give back to the culture I reached out to Magnus about my attempts to start a ski club for low income students I worked with and he had all the time in the world to chat about it with me, a complete stranger.

I don’t follow TikTok but that’s forever valid in my eyes.

Fr Hackels run in sbmc Riksgränsen was insane probably the most core competition a skier could be in.

yeah I'm with you but this might be one of those "hate the game not the player" type situations. Hackel and the others are older now, pretty sure they want to make careers out of skiing and instagram is great way to get views and sell stuff.

Deadb is that you? Reminds me of the kid hating on and throwing shade over gilson skis and YouTuber culture.

I think this new media outlet is still pretty young and while these guys still haven’t done anything groundbreaking yet, it still has potential.

the more diversification there is in styles the cooler every style gets. Imagine Olympic slope style homogenous style was the only acceptable form of skiing.

like why are you actively trying to kill something that could grow into something cool. I used to think travelling circus was a bit geeky but now I think that crew are absolute legends.

It's working too. Hackel was on a tear last season Jackson Hole to Nine Knights.

Had a dream last night that I had 1000s and then they broke exactly how my last skis did (had to replace a screw in the heel piece and I guessed it compromised the integrity cuz just behind the pivots they snapped though I did fall on the tails which resulted in their fracture)

Magnus and Hackel are homies, no matter your opinion about 1000 skis, Tik Toks, or the swerve style.

They're just some dudes doing what they love and making a little bread in the process. Can you really fault them?

Was definitely prepared to cringe, but I actually thought Hackel's most recent (first?) vlog was actually pretty interesting and a good watch. Looking forward to future episodes.

I would think he's moving differently because he is part owner. You obviously want to market your company one way or another..

Yea tiktok is lame cuz were older now and have aged out pop culture trying to appeal to us. But everyone I've talked to that had a pair only had super positive things to say, and they were throwing down too.

back in 2012, a small group of northstar ski team kids and i went to bach for a comp. there was this kid named alex who had super baggy gear and daggers for poles sending front 6s deeeeep off the cannon rail. the majority of pro skiers have quite short 'careers', often ending with a lot of injuries and not much else to show for it. so the fact that more than 10 years later that little gangster homey has made himself a career, you just gotta respect that. maybe you don't love the exact way he earns his money but he's living his dream and hopefully setting himself up for longer term financial success

yeaaaah you lost us there. should have stopped while you were ahead

1000 Skis was cringe from the beginning. I would be shocked to see someone buy them if they were cheap, nevermind the fact that they are mad expensive makes it even a bigger joke. I'm interested to see how long it lasts...

ong magnus went downhill after he got sponsered

I can’t speak on the skis, but to call the Bunch crew insta influencers is a poor take.

Those guys have a creative output that is so large it’s hard to measure. Posting to insta is probably what gets their least amount of attention and is probably fun for them.

Go spend some time and watch their last few films. They each continue to evolve creatively, like albums from your favourite musical artist. They all have a different vibe and don’t follow the same recipe you get from the TGRs and MSP’s.

I pay attention to those dudes and try to learn as much as I can.

???? Is anyone following tgr or msp and thinking to themselves “that’s how to make a ski film”. Both of them is how not to film rn

Fuck off with your fake bullshit take.
