1000 skis backlash and judgement

Biggest concern to me is that the "Team" are comprised of board members/execs. Hackle, Magnus, LSM, and Peyben are all owners/board members of the company, so it feels a little disingenuous to have them portrayed as strictly ambassadors without disclosing their actual roles in the business. As such, they are going to be more inclined to hype up the skis performance/positive qualities then if they were just sponsored or flowed the gear, because the sales/brand perception directly affect their bottom line, personal and professional. I'm not saying that the intent is to be shady or bad, but it does seem like they are intentionally avoiding acknowledging that ownership comprises the team. Also semi cap skis for $800 is just insane as everyone else has mentioned. Comparable offering from other brands (sick day, marksman, Bent Chetler 100) are all around $600 or less, significantly less expensive than the offerings from 1000. Also, they are operating direct to consumer only, like J skis, so their margin should be much better meaning they can have lower prices which is not what we see.

Also, all this talk about being sustainable, but I have yet to read anything discussing what they are doing to do that. Are they using environmentally friendly resins? Are they recycling old material? Are they just buying carbon credits? Is it all greenwashing? It just all seems like one big marketing gimmick at this point. They list their core values as sustainability, quality, and community, but offer nothing to back up what they are doing to promote sustainability, there is no information regarding their products quality and construction, and "community" as a core value feels like marketing speak. At this point it looks suspect at best, but I'm hoping they will produce actual documentation and data to back up their sustainability and quality claims.

The bunch have in the past shown proof of their sustainability idk

Pour some tea bro we’re all friends here

to talk durability, Åre skifactory have a great reputation for making solid skis that rip. the late brand CMD seemed to be solid as hell, and they came out of åre ski factory. also know people who ride the SGN skis as daily and they last two seasons easy. don't see why people hate on the durability when they haven't even come out yet

I’m not saying I’m gonna change the world, but I guarantee that I will spark the brain that does.”- Tupac.

Id have to agree with some of things said in this post. The skis don’t look that stable for all mountain and seem to flex out pretty easily. They need more length. This is great for someone like magnus or LSM, but not sure it will appeal to the masses. That being said, the whole sustainable approach is in the direction we need.. So hats off to you, 1000 ??
