Why do these videos give me the impression that the entire vocabulary of Americans consists off:

"Oh my god."

"Holy shit."

And "fucking" just goes in everywhere.

shit someone giving CPR at the beginning to someone laying in the median = not good

I would too, but I'd be more like "OH MY GOD IM NOT DEAD OR INJURED AND MY CAR ISN'T DAMAGED." And not like lol...wasnt me.

That's what sucks about driving in traffic on the interstate. All you need is one idiot to be driving like an asshole, or like an idiot and a whole bunch of shit can go down.

Even if people are driving like champs you only need a little bit of shit luck to fuck everything up.

This is why I get pissed when people drive like tools. People driving without their lights on, people who can't keep a steady speed, people who can't stay in a lane, people who tailgate with no intention of passing.

Idiots driving cars make the roads even more dangerous than they are.

Did you watch the video? The dude giving somebody cpr right at the start? Fucking hilarious right?

I mean apparently the douche who took the video though it was funny too.

damn, Im really hoping there were no fatalities. But with all those massive trucks in that I find it very unlikely, vibes to all those people.

Yup this happened about 10 minutes away from my house. Cincinnati turns into a bunch of fucking retards when it snows.

At the beginning of that video, did the guy say something like "shes about to die" as he looks at the person giving CPR? sounds like an asshole

But I'm surprised that many people were driving fast enough in the snow to not be able to stop, people from Cinci Freak out at a dusting and are instantly 10-20 mph under the speed limit

How does that make him sound like an asshole? He was most likely right, whoever that was probably was about to die, and he sounded sad/overwhelmed to me. And I don't think filming the accident makes him an asshole either...it's good for people to see what can happen and hopefully remind them to slow down, buckle up, don't tailgate, and pay attention.

That's so unfortunatebut seriously Ohio, get your shit together, there were FOUR massive car pile-ups yesterday. I was out driving, it was not that bad out. This is just embarrassing

Don't you guys use snow tires in the states? In Norway no one(!) uses their summer tires during the winter. And if you drive a car that weights more than 2.5 tons, and you might be driving on a road that might be snowy/icy you have to have chains in your car.

And your roads are so wide and open too, at least compared to ours. How does this happen?

Getting curious on the laws regarding snow/winter tires in the States. When and where are they mandatory? And the drivers training when you take your license?

Because if cars/trucks crash and slide on straight roads like that, that often, something needs to be done about it.

That being said, we had something similar in Sweden last week. Tragic and embarrassing.

Not having winter tires is mad sketch. My friends's truck started fishtailing for no reason twice when we were on the highway Saturday. Get winter tires

I've never had winter tires and I've never had a problem. you just need to know how to drive your car in the snow

Understandable. But what does the law say over there? Between what dates are winter tires required, and where?

it varies from state to state. in the midwest, I don't know if there are any laws regulating winter tires. There isn't in ILlinois at least. And actually, chains are illegal in the state of Illinois.

However, if I'm not mistaken, Colorado has a chain law requiring chains at certain times. Someone a little more familiar with CO would have to elaborate though.

yesterday,in cincinnati ohio, there was like a 86 car pile up 14 semi trucks. one 12 year old girl died. the highway was shut down all day. 20 people in the hospital

God this is so true.

It'll be a sunny day with light traffic on I-70 and then some idiot decides he can't drive on perfectly clear highway roads and ruins the drive for everyone.

apologies, upon watching again, the voice sounds a lot more sad than I could tell before. I posted that thinking the guy sounded more like he was talking in a bro tone like "dude that's a ton of cars and look someones about to die"

Thats 20 minutes from Miami University (where im at school) and 2 minutes away from where i worked. Hilarious.

I dont know where you live so you may not get a lot of snow, but for a lot of places, just knowing how to drive isnt always enough. Sure, getting 10-15cm of snow and slush isnt too bad and if your careful can be no problem, but when your getting 30+cm in a 10 hr span, or freezing rain so bad you can literally skate down the road, winter tires are highly needed. Not just to keep you on the road, but to keep moving aswell and not just start to spin your tires.

Not having snow tires is not an excuse for getting in an accident.....nor are they going to prevent an accident if you drive like an idiot you're going to crash....if the conditions are bad enough snow tires are not going to help you....and if you have snow tires it does not give you a right to drive 65 when the roads are pure ice.

I live in MN our roads are shit for 5 months out of the year, never had a winter driving accident, and just yesterday we had freezing rain every where...most all traffic was crusing at a steady 30 - 40 mph on hwy 61 (65mph speed limit) and you still get those dumbasses that haul by at 70 as if the conditions are perfect out. Don't be that idiot.

It all comes down to people not paying attention to the conditions. Just slow the fuck down and be defensive.
