I see where you are going with it and yeah it seems like maybe since it works for one country you could see where it would work for America, but I simply don't think you can use it as a logical comparison. Mere speculation.

What worked for Australia 36 years ago doesn't mean implementing the same ban will have the same effect on America today. All we would be doing is adding on top of the war over drugs with a war over firearms. But the catch is we still have tons of fire arms.
