09/10 gear thread

well, everyone has seen the pics the creator had posted. but i bet the guy who posted the whole catalog did get yelled at, he really gave things away =).

totaly agree man, high five! hahawe need to get armada to change a few of them, if thats possible. the alpha 1s were interesting tho, never seen anything like that. the t halls werent bad eather. just not great.
 
what were the bases like on the skis, i forgot. going for the triple high five for an answer!

ya, but they are the same style face as armada has always had, you know what im saying? like this years coda, arv, and arvw. they all look the same, only the ants had a bigger one.
 
Why would Armada or any other company be protective of the 09/10 gear? I kinda thought someone making a thread provides free advertising? Besides it creates hype on that product and makes kids more stoked to pick it up.
 
it has something to do with making them wait to buy the next years product instead of buying this years i think.

I can see that...but it's still on every sponsored athlete in every major competition.... we saw the Alpha 1s from videos of Armada shredding in NZ, we saw Alpha 2s all fall from Jacob winning city comps, we saw the new K2s on PK at dew tour, Henrik Harlaut had the new Salomon outerwear and new spherical scott goggles, tanner hall had the new dalbello il moro's (his pro model I think), Bobby Brown had the new under armor on....I completely understand what you're saying about wanting skiers to buy this years product rather than waiting till next year...but we've already seen most of the stuff thats coming out, it's kinda silly how they would get lawyers involved over a thread that like 100 ppl will read.

It does hurt the retailers. I own a shop and I already have all my catalogs for next years stuff. I dont post it because if your looking to buy skis now.. why would I want to give you incentive to hold off. I know that sounds kind of rough... but the companies have to protect their retailers. And per the armada.. I think that most of the skis are pretty sick looking. Im not a huge fan of the new ARV's but other than that they arent all that great.
And about the pros who are on next years stuff... thats different because when they are moving accross a tv or computer screen spinning around you cant always get a great look at the skis... it helps build stoke of the skis with out giving away exactly what they look like. And most of the good footage of them on their new gear wont be out until next year in the videos when the skis are all current anyways.

check the dew tour videos / photos. I think they're next year's extremes but with a purple / blue graphic. They look sick.

for the shop owner that posted above...anyone that skis a ton will buy this years skis and get a pair next year. I don't think showing photos of next years gear gives anyone an incentive to wait, cuz skis break and get thrashed from rails and stuff. besides, it's january right now, how many ppl are going to wait until next september for new skis based on an internet photo?

I see where you're coming from tho... SIA is in a couple of weeks and NS will do a big video about em....

This is all marketing BS. Armada's lawyers can't say shit about what is out in the open already. They could threaten NS with ad dollars, but that's it. This is just Armada trying to hype 09/10 gear by acting like it's graphics and models are super underground. They do the same thing at SIA by trying to stop people from grabbing catalogs that aren't retailers, and tellin people not to take photos. Lame
 
yea, and everyone has most likely already bought their new skis for this year. how many people buy new skis mid season? i know that i have but thats not what most people do. and even if i see next years skis, im still gonna go with a pair that i can get a deal on.
