07/08 surface watch life tail flex

I have the watch lifes as the title describes and when skiing them I noticed that the tail is extremely stiff. stiff as in its comparable to a 2x4. this might have to do with the fact that I centermounted them and by thickness you can tell that they were not intended to be mounted center, making the thickest part of the ski behind the healpeice.

Has anyone noticed this? does it break in after a while? I just like muh tail butta a lot.
 
Stiff and watchlife are not words that I would ever use in the same sentence. I just flexed them again to make sure I wasnt wrong but im pretty sure they are one of the softest skis in my shop... and everyone I have put them on has a) had them centermounted and b) loved how they buttered..
What length do you have and whats your height/weight? That might have something to do with it.
 
i think the tails feel stiff on mine too. probably because im 120 pounds but dont worry they are a really fun ski.
 
I am 5'11 and 190 lbs. I can throw skis around. The tips are plenty flexy, the tails are just seem super stiff.

I probably should have waited until I got a few more days on them, but I was just curious.
 
i rode a pair that were mounted in front of center. i didnt think that the tails were too stiff. they were alot stiffer then the noses but they were so fun and buttery and i never really washed out at all.
