So could be wrong on this, but walked into Source for Sports yesterday and the title says the rest. I mean that was the price of the mounted but $1,108? I live in southwestern ontario and freeskiing isn't huge here, but come on? is that not incredibly ridiculous? The girl ask if i had any questions and my first impulse was "Yea, are you guys on crack?". She's telling me that salomon is huge, which I agrred with, but then she goes what are you looking for and I said well armada, line, etc. not as big as salomon but still respected names and great company's, and she goes nope never heard of em, must not be good companies, cause i ski alot and i've never heard of them. My jaw dropped, so did the thrusters i was holding and I walked out

They're the only store thats really close to buy skis, so naturally im a little pissed when i these kind of prices> i would expect some markup but this is just rude. I like to support the local stores, but when i can get the same skis for $300 and a really good pair of bindings for $150 online and still be saving $600, I simply can't do it. You wonder why freeskiing has trouble growing. Source for sports needs to get their act together. I can't afford that + outerwear at 8.20 an hour.

Sorry if some of that made no sense.

internet that shit. they're rippin you the fuck off.

backcountry, evogear.com, footloosesports.com, jibij.com

that'll get you started

thats pretty fucked up...i would never spend more than 300 tops on thrusters even if it was my local shop and i was bestfriends with the owner that is just rediculous

totally agree witchu man. thats why i never get gear from shops anymore. even with pro deals cause the internetz is so cheap.

problem with alot of shops is that they bump up the price for the rich weekend warriors who know nothing about skiing and just wanna suit up a family of 5. They also employ "skiers" who would be also considered gapers by our standards. My shop is real chill, however they do this but b/c im a regular, they tend to keep the prices low for me

haha thats cool... if i ever end up at the source in london some time ill give them a big fuck you from ns haha

stupid bitch didn't even know who armada is? for christ sake woman you work in a ski shop and are expected to know these things

thats why you go to a shop if there is a good one in town, and not the internet. dealing with a shop on a regular basis blows the crap out of the internet. also most shops will price match the internet, if you bring in evidence it's cheaper.

buying on line doesn't help you in any way when you're stuff gets wrecked, because a lot of web based vendors don't provide warranties on the skis. the other thing is you still need to get those bindings mounted, and a shop is way happier to not see internet stuff rolling in. your skis will get all the attention they need.

in this case, source for sports seems like a standard big box store, not a dedicated ski shop. fuck 'em.

Yeah thats on the ridiculous side. Whenever I find myself knowing more about skis then the people working at the shop thats usually my cue to leave. But I do agree with the post saying that going to the same shop and forming a good relationship with the people that work there is a great thing to do. They will often be glad to order you stuff and give you good deals too.

Anyway hope you can find another shop and if not then DA InTRaN3TZ 2 d4 R3sKyOU
