    Hakuba 2012 Season

Some post-storm skiing in the Hakuba area from the past few days. 34702439 http://unofficialnetworks.com/contour-pov-line-week-hakuba-japan-64856/ Its snowing again as I write this, so tomorrow should be good again. I'll try to add more stoke as the season continues.

    The Edge Of Never

Just finished the book... definitely a good read. It tries a little too hard to appeal to a broader (non-skier) audience, but the story and the message behind it are great.

Sleeping In Your Car - Ski Bumming It

I sleep in a car on ski trips quite a bit. Dont bother with heaters or insulation or anything... just throw down on a -20 or -40 bag. Its cheaper that way. Make sure you get everything dry before retiring to the vehicle. Either get the heat going in the morning or go into the lodge before going...

    Winter @ Westminster

Apply to westminster as a fulltime student or as a "study abroad"? If you are only doing a semester, you might as well just take a semester off, save all that money, and ski more. My thoughts atleast.

    Chile/Argentina+Job

Unless you are a citizen of Argentina or Chile, you are gonna need a visa. You wont get one just by applying, you will need to some kind of hookup to facilitate the process. So, you need to be a certified instructor here who happens to know someone whos in charge of a ski school down there. If...

    Rockies make the playoffs!

Yep, pretty much. But using instant replays would "sacrifice the integrity of the game" or some shit.

    Schiller in Seven Sunny Days

Not interesting or innovative enough to even deserve a segment.

Yay for no more fun patrol. And I love how entirely uninformed you all are about Alta.

Coombs and K2. whats the deal?

Dougs ski from K2 that he rode on was a seth with a straight tail, apparently. However, in alot of shots it looks like he is on Black Diamonds, usually the Crossbow. That makes more sense, as its hard to imagine someone who does as much mountaineering as him choosing to ski on a shitty heavy ski...

Cheap skiing in Chile or Argentina

Portillo is ok... its basically an american resort culture wise... everyone speaks english and there is nothing but rich americans and some rich chileans there. The lift accessed terrain isnt that great, its probably worth going there to bag the super C ad then move on.

Cheap skiing in Chile or Argentina

Im down here at Las Lenas at the moment, things are good. Ive been here nearly a month now. Skiing pow on Marte the past 3 days, there is no one here its pretty incredible. To get an idea on prices, I am paying $500 us a month for the apartment I am staying in, and $1000 us for a season pass...

Should i buy the Hellbent's? give me your opinion

I disagree. Too much sidecut = tough to get a consistent carve going. Also makes it so you cant use the rocker to smear out and dump speed when needed.

What tricks can people do on a Pomma/T bar lift

Saw some Argentine kid slide all the way top to bottom of a poma on his stomach, including a 30 degree turn at one tower... that was pretty sweet.

Should i buy the Hellbent's? give me your opinion

Very light for a ski of its size, they felt lighter than the hellbents (179s)... I dont have exact weights for either though.

Should i buy the Hellbent's? give me your opinion

Ive gotten to ski the hellbents and ep pros, but unfortunately only hardpack/crud for the ep pros. They are very very soft... I clicked in for the first time, did a few pole pushes, and tried to do a little butter/nollie.... and promptly went over the handlebars onto my face. Thats how soft...

Should i buy the Hellbent's? give me your opinion

Personally I hated the hellbents when I tried them, they are quite possibly the worst ski I have ever been on. They are heavy and poorly made (I guess I could just call them K2s). They have a shitload of sidecut for a fat pow ski, so not only do they not float as well as they could, but their...
