    Injury fear

it’s been too quiet, I’ve had a couple close calls this year and did tweak up my knee pretty good, but it’s been 3 seasons without a substantial injury… and I’ve yet to get a major injury. i’m scared

Too much snow has created a serious problem

so anyone who lives in WA will understand this Friday, Dec. 31, 2021, I had the best pow day of my life with @tri_photo and another cousin of mine. (tell him to join NS) It was snowing at the base of Alpental, but bluebird up above chair 2. Absolute bliss - Pics included Ever since then...

    Nothing will stop my happiness

my local mtn has been having power issues, but the website said it had been resolved and night skiing would be open I step out into the cold to warm up my car. I stop and look around at the solid 8” of snow covering everything. Not heavy snow, I’m talking nice, dry, light snow. A smile finds...

    Wide flat boots

sort of a continuation of my bad boot experience thread... got custom footbeds and so far they they aren't doing much for the pain. Giving my FT's one last try and going to get them worked on once more. I'm also going to tell the workers there that if the boot just doesn't work for my feet...

    Bad boot experience

lemme tell you about the saga that is my horrid experience with ski boots in 2017, my parents bought me a pair of SPK’s. These were the best boots I ever had. They were perfect flex, fit, and pretty cool too. then, I was involved in a car wreck that ruined the boots in the trunk. that sucked...

    Backyard setup

I’m going insane. The snow here in the PNW is nonexistent at the moment. I have a brand new set of skis in my room waiting to be used. I’ve already built a rail for when it snows, and now I’m going to build a ramp. The only hiccup is that I have no idea what kind of carpet or turf to use on it...

    VAIL LISTENED???

there's no way pretty much anybody who skis in the PNW has at least caught wind of the 'Park To Brooks' movement on social media & even a petition on change.org. (https://www.change.org/p/stevens-pass-please-move-the-terrain-park-back-to-brooks ) If you haven't, here's the sparknotes version...

    $10 New Skis

Yes, you read that right. New skis, for $10. Today I was on lunch break, sitting in my car, when I get a text from a friend who I was helping pick out skis. "Am I seeing this right???" - He provided a screenshot of skis listed on evo.com for a whopping $10.00 I was skeptical, and they weren't...

    Thanks dakine

kinda short post but I want to see others reaction. I had some Dakine Thrillium knee pads that were bulky but I liked nevertheless. Then yesterday I took a decently hard fall and the knee pads failed me at a crucial time. They spun off my leg with the friction of the dirt and left me completely...

    Sibling skiers

I come from a fairly big family and all of them are skiers. Have been their whole lives. But mainly I want to know if anyone has siblings that ski, especially park. My older brother (Tri__Photo, me and him bicker all the time on NS) is a great park skier, he was even better than me for a bit...

    Functional training?

recently i was on a lift and the topic of working out came up in our group. i joined into the convo because i actually enjoy lifting. when i said that i enjoy lifting though, i got a mini lecture on how lifting (bench, DL, weighted dips, etc) does nothing for my “core stability” and these...

    Scooter kids on the mountain

okay don’t get me wrong, I’m fine with people trying wacky crap on the mountain to have fun... but. last week i saw something I’ve never seen before. ski scooters? sciters? idk what to call them but it purely enraged me. these two (one is off picture) kept hiking up the park IN THE MIDDLE OF...

    Rage about pivots

i bought my first pair of pivots this year and for the most part i love them. however I have taken the right heelpiece to the place where the sun don’t shine and I can’t click out of the bindings without them turning around and me shooting a ski out. so just for fun, what struggles have you...

What’s the funniest gaper you’ve ever encountered?

I read a thread recently that was one of the funniest I’ve ever seen. (just a funny exchange) It inspired me to make this one - what’s the funniest gaper/moron you’ve ever argued with or even just seen on the mountain?
