    All-mountain twintips for tall gal

Well, guess what....I ended up checking into some Lines because they were on sale at a shop nearby and I ended up with a great deal on a pair of Celebrities in a 172. Skied them last night and they are awesome - pretty burly, stiff enough to be fast and carve great on hardpack, but good in...

    All-mountain twintips for tall gal

Yeah, I've got no problem with that....just want to find the best ski for me. Any comments on the LInes? Prophet, Blend, Celebrity?

    Line Blend

Seen Line Blends on sale...good deal. Would a 172 be good for 5'10" , 160 lb. female? They seem like a great do-anything ski.

OK, saw next year's Madonna's and they are somewhat girly but very cool. It looks like it may be worth waiting for!

    All-mountain twintips for tall gal

Are you talking about the Lines or next year's women's 4frnts? I got on 4frnt's website and their graphics are really cool....I'd hope a women's ski from them wouldn't be too girly looking...I hate the flowery stuff. I also heard, from a ski industry guy, that Armada is coming out with a...

    All-mountain twintips for tall gal

What about the Line Prophet 90, in a 172? It's supposedly good on hardpack, too, which I get stuck with here in the east. There's great deals on them here, too.

    All-mountain twintips for tall gal

Yeah, I was waiting for the "size" comment!! :-) I"m actually quite normal and tried to upload a pic but I don't think it worked. Well, the advice I've gotten from ski industry "experts" is that the ARW is more of a park ski and the ARV is better all mountain. I'd like a better all-mountain...

    All-mountain twintips for tall gal

I'm in search of new twin tips. I'm confused with the whole women's ski thing, especially since I'm 5'10", about 160 lbs. It seems a lot of women twin tips are for shorter, lighter women. I'm a strong skier, ex-bike racer. I ski Salomon Mynx in 166 right now; they are a little short but I...

    Snow

I wish that was our problem. In PA, it's just crappy. We've had some cold periods, but almost no snow, and then some unseasonably warm periods with rain. It's like winter in Arkansas. Next week looks much better. I'm currently up in Lake Placid, and we just got 12" of powder last night and...

    NS slang and definitions

I'm no one's alias. I registered and read through the site and didn't know some stuff....I'm not embarrassed to admit I didn't know some slang. I was just looking to have some fun, and some people chose to join in. I don't look for credibility by talking; I get it by DOING. I'm not a great...

    To many noobs

The worst offense I saw was 2 girls who skied up to a rail, stopped, and then SAT DOWN on the rail and just sat there straddling the rail. My local hill's pretty good with etiquette though...the ski patrol cleans up the messes quickly and people don't make fun of noobies like me...they yell...

    To many noobs

Ha ha I try....the best is when I'm in the park and my kids don't know who I am and then if I take off my helmet, they're like..."whoa!" They know how to get me off topic in class...all they have to do is ask me about skiing.

    For MY East Coasters

Yeah, it sucks here in the East but we're long due for a good winter. It's gotta come around sometime. I try to look on the bright side....when I went to grad school in Colorado (Boulder) it was awesome, but we didn't have epic snows those years, either. AND it took a lot longer to drive to...

    To many noobs

Maybe take the attitude that some just don't know anybody and they're not deliberately trying to annoy anybody; they're just trying to learn and perhaps they're being a little selfish in the process. I'm a high school teacher who's also a noob and trying to get better in the park. I try to be...

    Skiing switch

Yeah, I think you're right about the speed thing. I am finding that its very fun and makes a boring run much more interesting. I'm hoping to soon get the the point where I do it a lot. I like to do 360's down the hill so I'm looking forward to turning the 360's into 540's and going switch.
