Should I get new liners or new boots?

Hello, I have had the same pair of Full Tilt Booters since 2014 and I have also not changed the liner in any of that time (all my money went to ski trips LOL) Currently I can lift my heel inside the boot at least 2 to 3 cm making for a very sloppy feeling ride inside the shells; and that's with...

Base Tear on Right Tail: Fixable or Doomed?

So after 10 years of loyal service my 2009 Line Anthems have finally succumbed to damage that I can't ignore: So my base has torn at the right tail, and the edge has lost it's hold on the ski. I'm just wondering, before I bring it into my local ski shop, do you guys think it's fixable or...

Any aggressive inline skaters out there?

So does anyone trade in their ski boots for street skate boots? Really interested in getting into this, looks like a good way to keep your park game in check. If you are, what skates would you recommend? Lightly used ones wouldn't be bad either. I love my Full Tilts for their Intuition Liner so...

    Mediocre at park! Tips?

Since I can't afford to take a mountain trip this year, I set a goal to improve my skiing here in ManiSNOWba; that means stepping up my park game. Thing is though, I'm rather average in the park at the age of 23, even though I've been on twintips for 6 years now. Popping is one of my weak...

    Goatskin gloves and towropes?

Anyone use goatskin gloves/mitts while having to use towropes? I'm curious about the durability.

    Revelstoke or Banff? (Sunshine/Lake Louise)

I'm considering two school ski trips that I want to go on; Red River College's trip is going to Banff around Christmas break and the other at the U of M is going to Revelstoke during Reading Week (Feb. 13-19 I think, right around my birthday). Both are about the same price (~$680), have about 4...

    Longest you've kept your skis?

I thought this would be a fun question to ask: what's the longest you've kept/ridden a pair of skis? For me, I've had my 2009 Line Anthems since......well, 2009. They're in relatively good condition still, only minor scratches on the topsheet, and a couple small gouges on the bases. Compared to...

    Who makes purple ski pants?

It's a hard colour to find, especially in men's sizes. The pair I have right now are a Volcom ladies pant, and 7k proofing; they're thin and soak through as fast as jeans...well non Gortex jeans. I know they're out there. So who makes them? I'd prefer men's sizes, or at least 15K+ water proofing.

    Basic three-finger gloves?

I'm looking for some basic leather 3 finger gloves with a removable wool liner. Besides Hestra, I don't know who makes this type of glove; Hestra's out of the question because my gloves need to be able to take rope tow abuse, and Hestra gloves have their seams on the outside. Great for...

    Backcountry/avalanche training...away from the mountains?

I'm a skier based in Manitoba, and I've gotten a taste of the best of what the mountains have to offer (Fernie, Feb. 2014, snow all the time) and the worst (Kicking Horse, Feb. 2015, no fresh snow, ice & moguls). While skiing the worst, there was all the untracked, fresh snow sitting on the...

    How to remount bindings?

So I have 2013 Line Sir Francis Bacons and I had my bindings mounted by a shop at the midsole mark. I have since skied at Fernie (Feb 2014, awesome snow) and now Kicking Horse (Currently really icy and tracked out). Having had both experiences, I feel like there's too much tail behind me to...

    Removing stickers/residue from helmet?

It's been 5 years of riding with the same sticker layout on my helmet and I want to change it up. I feel like putting on some more car related decals; GReddy, Tomei, Full Race, Work Wheels, etc. So obviously I just peel them off carefully, but what do I use to clean off the left over residue...

    Who bikes in the winter?

It's as the title says... I like to bike in most of my ski gear; my ski helmet works well because goggle clip. Recently bought Shwalbe Ice Spiker Pro studded tires, never before have I felt such grip in snow and ice!

Save for car or Ski trip?

I'll try to keep to keep this short, but I can't guarantee it.. So through the traditional ski bum job of cutting grass for the 2nd year, I managed to save $2500 over the course of last summer before I went back to school in September; it's purpose was to buy a car. Specifically, I wanted to...

Boot Mods (Swapping Studs for screws?)

I own a pair of Full Tilt Booters, and I can sum them up to having a comfy liner but a sloppy high volume shell; it gets nowhere near as tight as I'd like them to hug my foot. I also have some 3 year old Dalbellos with extensive bootwork done to the shell, but they had a stiff, uncomfortable...

Moving to Japan: What would it take?

So this is just an idea I've been tossing around, and definitely wouldn't be something I'd do until I've finished my education, but I think it would be cool to live in Japan for a time...maybe for a season, maybe a year, maybe for life; who knows. All depends how well I can adapt, and if I get...

Fellow Ski Instructors: I need tips!

So as of this year I started doing ski instruction I have my CSIA level I certification since January. Sometimes a tough job for me as I'm not the best at explaining how to do things, especially when all the things I can do have become such a natural movement for me. Anyways, I'm fairly good at...

Ski Guide: How to become one?

I know very little about the job except that its apparently a sweet gig. What is ski guiding? What do I need to do to become one? how does it pay? fill me in, I'm interested.

    Quad Muscle Recovery?

I'm a skier from Manitoba; I started there and skied only there for 8 years because I'm the funder not the funded. Now I'm on a trip in Fernie and HOLY SHIT it's awesome here! What I wasn't expecting is how much my quads would burn! I've skied for 3 days straight and day 3 I felt really sloppy...

CSIA level I cert course: a shitty situation

I'm currently working as a ski instructor at my local hill, and it's my 1st year. Naturally, I do not possess my CSIA level I certification, so I need to go and take that. The problem is, is that it is occurring not at my local hill, but rather another ski area about 1 1/2 hours south of...
