i read East of Eden by Steinbeck and loved it. it's a longer book but absolutely compelling from start to finish. i also read Gates of Fire. this book is sooooo good. if you want a really good fictional story of thermopolae (the battle that 300 was based on) go and check it out right NOW.

there's also a fun little hill behind E.P.I.C. where you can set up barrels and picnic tables. it becomes a mini park in the winter. i went there quite a bit last year when it snowed and had a super fun time!!!!
