riding fakie on a skateboard is going backwards. riding switch on a skateboard is riding "goofy". since there is no stance side in skiing, its impossible to ride switch. therefore fakie is the correct term for skiing backwards.

your right about the fakie part. but in forward facing sports (rollerblading biking ect) switch is used to doing something in the opposite direction (spin grinds whatever)
