I've been downhill skiing for a while and used to race, but want to try out touring. Any tips on where to start/best/cheapest places to look for some equipment? (I sadly live on the east coast and craigslist looks pretty bare)

The heel piece of my pivot 12 bindings ripped out of my skis after dropping them down to click into. Had taken a hard fall maybe 2 runs before. Luckily wasn't skiing when they came off... The threading is still on the screws. What is the cause of this and what can I do from here, who would I...
