my friend broke one of his poles once so we skied to the rental shop and the guy there was old and really cool so he just gave my friend some old huge neon poles that looked hella cool so just look for a cool rental shop worker and maybe you could get some old poles for free

I was an apprentice ski instructor at my local hill when I was 14. I didnt get paid but I got free skiing and a discount on food (which was handy cuz i was gonna be there most of the season anyway), and next season I was garanteed a job
