Yes, better than nothing. If the temps drop below 20 tonight and hopefully into the mid to lower teens, we will see a large amount of snow blown. if the temps stay above 20, the guns will be churning all night but won't throw down quite as much snow as it would below 20.

We are currently blowing snow on homerun from the top of payday on the access to the top of town lift, down homerun to the bottom of first time. The fan guns on payday are pumping out more snow now as well. The guns above the superpipe are blowing as well as the guns on first time. They blew...

They were blowing snow from late last night, the early am hours of the night until now. They still might be blowing up higher, i'm not sure I can't see that part of the hill from my office.

If you looked at the weather trends up until last weekend for the previous 2-3 weeks, we have been in a pretty bad inversion. I'll explain. Out at Gorgoza ( our tubing park on I-80 just below parleys summit) the morning low was 18, allowing them to blow a large amount of snow. Gorgoza sits...

People that design or own skateparks being held liable for injurys?

They have the same type of sign like we do at the top of terrain parks that tells you by using this facility you accept the risks and dangers and can't sue. I haven't heard of anyone ever winning or sueing a city because of a skate park though.

Will pc open for when they plan

I sure hope it isn't warm for that long. I dislike summer, and it's held on for too long this year. But theres always hope for an above average january. That would be a good birthday present.

Will pc open for when they plan

You can make snow with new technology to very high temps, in the 40's and I remember a system that claimed the 60's but I don't remember the manufacturer or whether or not they are still in business. Any snow made above 28 degrees is pretty much a waste of money and manpower. It is not a...

Will pc open for when they plan

It needs to be 20 degrees or below for a straight 72 hour period to blow enough snow on homerun from the top of payday to bottom of first time to make the opening date. Which isn't going to happen. The temps are ridiculously warm during the day. The aim is for wednesday. If it's still too...

    Opening dating: will it happen?

That's pretty much every resort right now, As soon as we and they can blow enough snow to make a good run, they'll open those limited runs. The long range, not that people really go by it... was saying a really dry november with a moist and above average moist mid december to february. But...

Is pc going to cut down their park some this year???

The Payday park will be up this year. I said in my blog and in forums from last season that we took payday out because there wasn't enough snow coverage on that run. it's a difficult run to keep snow on. This year they have put in fan guns up until the drift road, so there will be enough snow...

Yes that portion of homerun has held snow really well because it is shady most of the day.

    Park City

in order to make a good amount of snow we ideally need temps at or below 20 for 72 hours to make an opening amount of snow. at 28 it would take a day or two more.

    Park city

It is nervewracking though, the lows are forecasted and have been 29, 30, 31 with highs in the 50's. it's just not low enough at night to blow enough coverage on the runs. It's playing with our emotions. Blasted mother nature!
