    MSP size

From what I've heard, center mounting sucks for powder/big mountain. I would guess that the longer tail is going to want to make the tips dive, which is bad news in the pow. Enjoy Utah!

Pics and review of my Bacons

That's awesome. Still, you should plan a trip to the west to fully utilize those bad boys.

    Tight pants

I don't think you can go wrong with a comfortable medium--pants that are neither too tight nor too baggy. To me, neither extreme seems comfortable.

Pics and review of my Bacons

I'm just curious, but why'd you get such wide skis when you ski on the East Coast? Thanks for the review.

    1 Jump + 20 rails = Not a "Park"

At least, it's not what I think of a park. No offense to my rail-riding brethern. Some rail tricks are very cool and I have no problem with their presense in the park. I'm just not really into rails myself. I am into jumps and the pipe though. Too bad my local ski resorts think that a dozen...

    Worst ski up to date?

That pretty much sums up most of this thread. For the record, I have a pair of Line Skogens from 2000/2001 and this year's Prophet 100s. Both are great skis and have withstood a great amount of abuse. I'm not saying that all skis ever made by Line skis are great, but I've been pretty happy...

How many days have you skied this season so far?

Fellow law geek? Sounds like a sweet gig.

How many days have you skied this season so far?

Those people with 30+ days, what do you do? How are you able to get so many days in?

How many days have you skied this season so far?

I'm just curious to see how often people here actually ski. Let's define a "day" as one in which you skied for at least a few hours. Also, what do you do for a living? Me? About 20 days/state government job.

Wat are the best resorts and why

The back bowls would be fun on a powder day, but I just never found anything that steep or challenging at Vail. Maybe it's there and I never found it (I certainly tried). I didn't have the same problem at the other places. Also, I forgot to include Mammoth, which I'd fit between Alta and Taos.

Wat are the best resorts and why

My favs in order: Whistler/Blackcomb (has everything) Kirkwood (good vibe, great big mountain skiing, crazy snow) Snowbird (great big mountain skiing and snow) Alta (ditto) Taos (best snow I've ever skied; small but great place) Squaw (massive, great big mountain and park, but home to a...

Who is your favorite skier? and perhaps why?

Candide in the park and off booters; Pep Fujas everywhere; Seth for big mountain.

    07/08 Line Skis

Shit. I wish my 2006/7 Prophet 100s had the 2007/8 graphics.

Looking to buy first wide ski

I also love my Prophet 100s. I posted a review of them in the review section: https://www.newschoolers.com/web/content/reviews/action/read/id/308/ Since that time, I've put another 8 or so days on them. I love 'em more and more.

    All-mountain Twintip

That good advice. Since you live on the East Coast, I assume that you won't be getting into the light and fluffy stuff too often. So wide-waisted powder skis like the Seths, Prophet 100s, Mojo 105s, Guns, Gotamas, etc. would be a waste. Also, I assume you're skiing moguls and the wide-waist...

    Candide the most talented?

There's nobody I'd rather watch in the park.

    Best ski video opions anyone

Personally, my favorite ski flicks are those done by Matchstick--The Hit List, Push, Focused, etc. They combine a good amount of big mountain, park, and park-style big mountain, and usually have decent music. If you're looking for something more park-oriented but with some big mountain, I'd go...

    University of alaska

You'll meet all the friends you need in college. One of the best things I ever did was get away from my hometown for college. It'll still be there when you're done, and all your friends and family will want to visit you because you live in Alaska. Of course, the one thing that Alaska won't...

    University of alaska

I'd generally agree about the park. The steeps and pow more than make up for it. Still, it'd be nice to have a nice park and pipe for night skiing and in the spring. I've had to wait 15 minutes for the smelly tram. But that's rare. And even the biggest tram lines and chair 6 lines don't...
