I'd agree. I think he's a better big mountain skier than anyone on this forum (for example, he's coaching at the Alta Straightline Camp this weekend), but I don't think he's up to par with guys like Morrison, Nobis, McCintosh (sp.?), etc.

It was High Life. (Watched it this weekend.) I kinda like the dude. It's always amusing to have somebody who makes up for his lack of skiing skill (compared to other pro big mountain riders) with ballsy-ass hucks (even if he sometimes lands on his head).

They make good skis and I liked my past models (00 X-Scream and 95 Force9), but their current stuff seems a little too soft and flexy for me.

I'd agree with that. Hokkaido probably has the best skiing (Niseko, etc.), but it's also very far away and isolated from the rest of Japan. So I'd probably recommend the Japanese Alps area--Hakuba and what not. The skiing there is still good and it's really convenient. Its only a couple...

Yeah, I knew it was sometime in the spring. I have skiied in Japan in May though. (Zao in Iwate-ken often has a decent park set up at that time.)

Their winter is the same as ours. So February and March are usually the best. Just make sure that your vacation doesn't overlap with their "Golden Week," when everybody takes their vacation and the resorts get real crowded. Also, while the cultural experience is awesome, the skiing in Japan...
