My Powder Skis for Next Year

I'm 6'1", 190 lbs., ski aggresively, and rockered skis are supposed to ski a little short. So it shouldn't be a problem. Also, I'm looking for something to supplement my 186cm Prophet 100s. I love my Prophets, my I could definitely use a much bigger, burlier ski for hard charging and hucking.

My Powder Skis for Next Year

How do you like your ARGs? I think the Praxis will be somewhat similar.

My Powder Skis for Next Year

They're certainly not everyday skis. But they apparently kill soft snow and hucks.

My Powder Skis for Next Year

I just put a $200 retainer down on some 195cm Praxis Powder skis: 131-136-121, reverse sidecut and rockered. Praxis, an indy ski maker out of Tahoe, is selling these skis (also in 175cm and 185cm) for a super-cheap $400 if you put down the first $200 now. These skis have been reviewed very...

    Alaska summer camp

Aly's park sucks, no doubt about it. They're (a) located on the flatest parts of the mountain so that you practically need a sled to make the landing; (b) built so that they throw you out more than up; and (c) the landings are almost all in the shade, which, for a lot of the winter, meant that...

What ski should i get? heres a list

Demo'd the Big Troubles and hated them. They felt super heavy and didn't hold an edge for crap. IMGO, my prophet 100s, which are longer and wider, are much better in and out the park. (I'm not necessarily recommending that you get the 100s. I'm just saying that I didn't like the BTs.)

    Boot problem

    (1) Invest in cork-bed custom insoles (unless you're 11-years old and growing a new shoe size every year). This is important for people with high-arches. (2) If you're boots are 3-years old, they're probably packed out, meaning there's little cushion left in the inserts. (3) Go to a reputable...

You let "kids" suck your dick?

    Have you ever......

Not that that isn't kinda funny, but I feel sorry for the kid. All decent skiers lose, if only temporarily, a ski or two in the pow at some point, and it fucking sucks. And if you laughed at him (and not just to yourself), you're kind of an asshole.

Any chance to sue Rossignol and get somewhere?

RE: Only in America, blah, blah, blah . . . Yes, litigation is prevelant in America. Yes, some of it is based on frivolous claims. But some claims have merit--i.e., sometimes a large corporation will knowingly make a shitty, dangerous product to the harm of many. Moreover, the countries that...

    Have you ever......

Getting props from the chairlift is awesome, which is why I also try to give them out liberally. But I hate it when people talk shit from the chairlift by (a) laughing when people eat shit (although a quality Nelson Muntz impersonation is always appreciated); (b) yelling at them to do certain...

If you could ski with anyone...

Pollard, Treadway, Pep, Mike Douglas. All are great skiers and cool guys. And, if we're allowed to resurrect the deceased, Doug Combs.

    Alta/Snowbird, utah or Summit/Vail, colorado?

None of that makes sense to me, least of all the Alta's shitty part. Unless you only care about park, I'd do Alta/Snowbird

    Alyeska was amazing today

24" of ultralight, dry Alta-in-the-Chugach sweetness. I inhaled enough snow on every run to stay totally hydrated. At one point, I caught a ski on an under-snow tree branch that twisted me around causing me to drop off of a twelve-footer backwards and upsidedown. I landed on my back, rolled...

    OR Scientific Helmet Cam?

I'm talking about buying a helmet cam to attach to my helmet when I ski. I'm thinking of doing a day of heliskiing, and I'd like to memorialize the occasion.
