Armada AR6 06-07. place of binding?

1st think u should do is chk the ski. Get a tape measure and measure either under the base or from tip to tip and find what true center is. Then chk where the 'mount line' Armada put on the topsheet. the ski. It may have been center or it may have been backset. The Armada mark may have been...

    I hate sports experts

make sure the holes 1) are as stated - not too close together - because this can cause a weak spot 1.5-2cm away from the prev holes, 2) make sure they are filled right - with waterproof glue And a plug, 3) and check them thru the season to see if they are loose, coming out or showing wear or...

    Volkl bridges

tested them in whistler last year. Found them too stiff compared to other park skis. Not the nicest coming off anything. My first impression was they put tails on a race ski. But it you are heavier and stronger this ski may be for u. I was not thrilled by the all mtn ability. Kinda bashed...

    Mounting my new armada jj's

I am noting this thread because I saw it . https://www.newschoolers.com/web/forums/readthread/thread_id/382657/ Our factory recommended mount point on the JJ is -5cm from center; this point should be indicated on the ski by a line. To get the most accurate measurement I would recommend...

    Choosing salomons

most versatile Salomon is 1080, Wide enough to float and now wood core to take abuse. Maybe the 161 length or if u wan more float 171. This will all mtn, pipe, park and groomer & powder. The Salomon GUN is about 10mm wider so if u want more capability for deep stuff. Suspect & Dumont have a...

    Armada JJ suited for me?

please refer to https://newschoolers.com/web/forums/readthread/thread_id/382657/ Tyson Hall of Armada answers mount point questions. On the 185cm size question rockered skis ski shorter than their real length...the tip contact snow point is further in as is also the tail

    Best ski wax?

Racers (their techs) clean their bases with a hydrocarbon (plain parafin) hot wax & scrape. It takes off old wax & FL wax. Then they use maybe 3 layers/overlays of wax be it HI FL or whatever. So they are good. Good rule -every once in a while use just hydocarbon wax. Some Racers wax their...

    While cutting poles...

some poles have a wood plug at the top where the strap screw goes in. chk that out. if u have that pop the wood plug out with a screwdriver & hammer or something and put it into the new cut pole.

    Lange boots

Banshee PRo or Bshe or Fluid is what the they identify for freeride - they don't talk pipe & park but these boots have shock absorbing bootboards and softer than race flex liners are changed from last year . They also got rid of crazy liner cross straps. But these are more big mtn - all mtn...

Imperfections in the bases on new skis: do they matter?

Figure out if the depression(s) area is a real problem. It may cause the tip of the ski to hook/catch and you'll go numbnuts on your first rail. I can't tell u if u have a big problem or small but if you have a true bar or steel wax scraper chk the base for flatness or take it to any shop...

    Online store in canada?

Most cdn web stores are retail brick stores adding an online function. They all suck compared to true online or USA web stores. Email / call the stores below. They all have more skis than their crappy websites show. Maybe this helps. They are all lazy with their websites. Sporting Life has just...

    Left and right skis?

always swap your left & right skis often - ride them morning one way then swap them after lunch left to right or whatever. Less wear & tear. Balances the stress on the edges, ski and tune....as some of the others have said. It also spreads the damages on the topsheet edges more evenly.

    Video cameras freezing.

happens to most cameras unless the are "freeze-proof' or made 4 rugged use. If a camera comes out of a warm car/room into real cold temps the moisture inside can freeeze on something inside or lubricants can stiffen up. Some cameras have optimum temperatures and they won't work in the cold...

    Back protection = worth it?

try http://www.reliableracing.com/category2.cfm?category=3510&header=RACING%20ARMOR because ski armour really came out of motocross racing suppliers like Diansese and went to the racing side of skiing. Back protectors spread the load on a fall and reduce some of the ice-rash / smash from...

    So my camera broke....

FYI - on ski trips I have had 2 things happen to me worthy of note to camera buyers. 1) The camera/shutter froze/stuck 2) camer/ battery died from cold. So now I got this point & shoot thing that even has a snow setting and movies...
