I used to have the AK rockets. I'm imagining that the Axis AK's are probably a bit nicer. I loved the AK rockets when I had them, but the Axis technology can only make that ski better. Buy em'.

spatulas are such a sick powder ski. I rode them last year in some spring cement as well as a bottomless cold day in February. They are so much fun....you'll likey.

I would rate them like this: mad trix mojo = super tough ski Pistol = Pretty tough ski Scratch BC = kinda tough ski Pocket Rocket = Not for your bigger crowd The Nordica beast would fall in there between the Pistol and the scratch's My .02 cents.

It depends on what you're looking for. If you're looking for stability go with the BC's, the PR's are pretty soft and have a foam core (which makes it a bit lighter but less durable). The BC's have a bit of a longer turning radius. They both are good skis. You really should check out Pistols...

No, the fact that they see only 5% groomers doesn't change the mounting position. Those skis are designed (and mounted) to ski 100% bottomless snow. You should get one of them remounted to the left....if you take them to a shop that has some BC skis they should be able to do it for about $15...
