Theres no D-SLR lenses or SLR lenses, its just lenses. so if you're on a d-slr, it zooms, if not, it doesn't

.mov is a trillion times better than wmv. Personaly, I'd go with MiniDV. MiniDV cameras (vx's, gl's)is a loooooooooong way ahead in technology, durabilty vs. HDD cams. if you have a kit lens wich is surely something around 18-55 or 70 I'd go for 70-210, classic lens for portraits and good zoom. anyway. just my 2 cents.
