well if its dh your gunna be doing, adn ur price range isn that high, then id look at a used full suspension, something like this http://www.pinkbike.com/buysell/263272/ ( 05 norco a line) or an atomik or just something cheaper. hardtails are no good for dh, but i guess it depends were u are...

thats a pretty decent price. the brake shouldnt cost anymore than 50 to get fixed, adn even if you had to get a new one, you can get a good one for 150. id say go for it if its in good shape
