Need som tips on good backcountry sites in CA.

Mt. Rose can be good for bc, it's higher up and gets some nice snow up there. Also Donnor pass (castle peak, like was already said) and the area backside of sugarbowl is fun. If you're willing to hike, there are lots of random places around Tahoe to go...but this time of year, with the season...

    Most pain you felt

Last season I tore my meniscus-that hurt pretty bad. Also my freshmen year of highschool, first season of x-country, I had a stress fracture in my femur, and I was dumb and kept running on it. I had a good race at our championships but it hurt so bad afterwards that I couldn't walk.

    Help-line invaders

^^I have a pair of nancies and I love them-sooooo good in the pow. I don't know anything about the arw or arv, but I've heard good reviews for both.

    Help-line invaders

They work well for me everywhere-but they are a very soft ski. Your height and weight makes a difference

    Squaw Valley season pass

I wish...I might try to save up to buy one next year though-I love Squaw but it's just soo expensive

    Invader

I actually love my Invaders and haven't had any problems with them-an all-around great park ski for me. I'm pretty small though which probably makes a difference as to why they haven't fallen apart like other Invaders have.

    Storm?

Soooo cutting out early this week to go ski-if it weren't for ochem lab today I would have stayed in Tahoe and skied instead of going back to Davis this week.

New to cali... anyone want to come ski tahoe

They may have the roads closed just fyi...but if they are open definitely go up and ski. Alpine and Squaw are the best in Northlake in my opinion-best terrain. In southlake I like Kirkwood, it's high up and gets the best powder in the Tahoe area.

    Bay Area Kids!

You don't know shit, you should stfu. I know lots of great skiers from the bay, and quite frankly the "gay area" is what keeps Tahoe going. No bay area skier/boarder=no tahoe economy.

    Storm?

The snow has been great so far-I got some great pow runs so far. It's supposed to dump on Sunday though-I think the best of the snow from these series of storms is yet to come.

    Why did you chose skiing?

My dad is a big skier, got me on skis when I was really young. He taught me everything except park stuff-pretty much by the time I was 7 or 8 he told me to ski some black diamond and I just did it. I was hooked at a young age to skiing, though didn't ride twins until last year. Now that's all I...

    Fuck my season is over!!!

Ouch...my bf broke his collarbone last season, he was back skiing (not 100%) in 3 weeks and all out by 5 or 6 weeks. So don't worry, your season probably isn't over, you should be back in time for spring skiing.

    Squaw

I've heard that squaw has a really good park right now, plus I think Squaw has some of the best all mountain skiing in Tahoe, so there is plenty to do outside the park as wel.

    New car / tire chains

I drive a little 2wd car up to Tahoe every weekend-usually not a big deal (such good gas milage- about 35-40 mpg) but when there is chain control putting on chains is a bitch. Get a 4wd car if you can, it'll save you time and having to get out and put chains on whenever there is snow on the freeway.
