mine is 2 feet and it works good, but the whole rail is 2 feet, not just the supports

snow fence works good, but its hard to stay in control on it, so with that if you put thick carpet under ir, it slides good and you have a little more control on it, but indoor/outdoor carpet works the best if you get it wet

i havent, but i would just get HDPE, its the best and the cheapest

the down rail and dfd box look like they will work real good, but get some supports on the bottom rail
