Vx21 / HDR-FX1 : Same zeiss lens, essentially same sensor.. Same in low light. Who cares which one you have? (beside the fact the FX1 is double the vert resolution) HD is definitely partially a marketing scheme... The confusion REALLY comes when people think that the HD referred to for vid...

The next step up.. A HDR-FX1 from Sony can be had for about 2700-3000 (serious investment) but it KILLS it in low light. Full rails can be shot at acceptable levels with only headlights or hand lights.

We had this problem last season because we simply duplicated a burned master instead of paying to have one pressed professionally, its unfortunate but reality. Hopefully its just your dvd player.
