To Bacon Or Not To Bacon

I hope you don't want the sidecut of the Bacons for 'hauling ass' get something straight. I'm guessing if you want them that fat you're looking for close to a pow specific ski. The KW's are a good choice, though you think they're too long. Spatulas can be had cheap, center mounting so low...

    Foils vs. STL's

Depends on where you ski, like what is that 20% out of park, and how big you are. I hated my 05 stls, I ski tahoe and i'm 6'2 190. They're just to soft to ski hard anywhere out of the park. While the foils are no planks, they make a great park ski that I can take in the trees for a couple...

    Ski resort jobs

Had an interview and mini ski test with Northstar. It was pouring rain and he was worried about getting us hurt, it was super sticky. I'm on their 'priority list' and I've applied to Alpine but Northstar is much more convinient for me, and takes a little less qualification (avy control).

    Bro models

pmgear doesn't report turn radius, but the sidecut is 125-99-114. 184 foils are 124-87-115 with radius of 20.4. So the soft 179's would be a guess around 25 with the stiffs being about 27, but those are total guesses. They're fairly straight, the 188's don't like to turn on groomers unless...

^what's the stability like this time of year. I read somewhere that they're pretty solid similiar to Tahoe, another said they're typically unstable. I'm guessing with the amount of snow they get stability should be pretty good. They sound awesome, not positive i'll get out there this spring...

    Avalanche Prevention Question

generally half sticks, ski above, light, toss...boom. If they can't get above it, tie it to a rope that spans the area with a big knot in the middle, throw it out, let the rope do the placement. And a fair amount of resorts have howisters, pretty awesome to watch. In the bc, a lot of Heli...

    Ski Jobs

As i'm pursuing a career in medicine, this has been on my mind for a while. Northstar has a clinic at the base of the mtn, beds, x-rays....They bring in doctors from the surrounding hospitals. It's a pretty sweet deal. Wouldn't be suprised that the 'skiing doc' you encountered takes a pay...

    iggy..how's the 12 on the naxo's treating you. Just curious. I've got my fingers crossed that they're huck worthy. When I skied Freerides, I felt like I could crack them with a good turn. P.S. 325mm 6'2" 190 914's at 9 912ti's at 10 p12's at 10 Nx21's at?? probably 11

4frnt MSP's vs. Pistol vs. Vicious

Not be a BRO whore, but they sound like what you're looking for, I was interested in the 189 viscous as well, but too much side cut and too soft for what I want. The Bros are stiffer, even the soft model and have way less side-cut at 125-99-114. And they weigh nothing.

Sitting on the back off you skis for speed and aerodynamic purposes

surface area guys, the more you spread out your weight the faster you go. Why do bigger guys use bigger skis? racers on 215's? sitting back your weight is back, not evenly distributed across the surface area of you skis. If you want to go faster, buy longer skis and learn how to ski.

    What are those bindings

well, according to backcountry.com the silverette pure freerides at AT boots only because of the position of the pivot, need to be able to flex they toe of the boot in order to walk properly in them. Though i'm sure you could ski them and make do hiking up, but seems uncomfortable on the way up.

    What are those bindings

The silverette pure's do not work with alpine boots, you need AT boots. Otherwise iggy nailed the at-binding check list. I've used trekkers, they work but they're heavy, I had them on my spatulas, quite possibly the heaviest at-set up every. They got the job done, but I was they'll tweak your...
