Ohhh, its quite bad on the east as well! I know several spots that if you show up on a decent day and dont show any respect, you will not get ANY waves!! I've even seen many people's windshields get waxed, tires slashed, etc. etc. etc... I guess its hard to understand why they're such assholes...

I rock a 5/4 all winter (just N. of Boston) and i'm usually fine. Although a 6/5/4 would keep me a bit warmer, I like how my 5/4 is a TINY bit thinner. I guess it just depends on how big ya balls are....until they shrink

If you dont know what you're doing, dont bother trying. You'll just destroy the board. Pay someone the $$ to get it fixed, it'll save you a LOT in the long run.

Umm, are you sure you surf on the right side of the cape? There's the bay side and the atlantic side. I ride a 5'10 short for bigger swells and a 6'4 thruster for when its halfway decent...to say the cape isnt big enough for short boards is insane.... Unless you only go in july or something...
