    Stoked. I was a bit worried about my skiing skills as I grew up with flat 500' hills to ski. Coming up to even VT proved to me how I wasn't that good of a skier. Reason I am stoked is because I am improving leaps and bounds in my technical skiing abilities.

    Skied al day today, even caught a lift ride in the gondola with a guy who offered a few hits on his bowl. Nice sunny day. Burned out my legs riuping Superstar non-stop for 3 hours. Real decent. I'm sore though, haha

    Not really. I'd rather have something that was designed for an intended purpose of repeated smaller impacts rather than one that was designed for a one shot use and then replacement.

    Best food to fuel skiing

    Oatmeal, a clementine, and coffee in a mug on the drive up works for me. Lunch is usually a deli sandwich packed up. I brown-bag it. Gotta have the coffee though. Can't function without it anymore.

    Look what the editors of TW Snow had to say about us!

    Not that it bothers me, but I'm fairly certain that Mr. Bishop was one of the ones responsible for the photoshop Kass stickied thread. I couldn't care less though. I don't give a shit what Danny Kass said, or what TW Snow said. I enjoy skiing for myself, and not for anyone others acceptance.

    Detuning skis

    Really though, run a search. This is a VERY commonly posted topic. Or to be quick, detune under-foot, dulling the edges with a flat file if you plan on doing a lot of jibs. It's not mandatory though.

    Tons of snow. Its been real solid. We got 2 feet during last week, and this week we got 5 inches, but then it turned to freezing rain. It didn't kill the snowpack at all, and likely will help in opening terrain in some areas and give a nice solid base in the trees. The snowbanks on the side of...

    I'm casually getting ready to go to the mountain today, rip til 2, then clean up and start my shift. Take out the work potion and it'd be a killer day.

    Quick props thread to Bern

    Just wanted to publicize my good dealings with them. Definitely a solid company who will make customers happy. I received a Baker with an audio liner last year as a gift at the holidays. I was very satisfied, but by the end of the season, a wire in the knit portion of the audio liner had been...

    Writing a formal letter to my ski hill- Advice?

    Perhaps add in the safety aspect of steeper landings. Resorts LOVE anything that will reduce their injury rates possibly reducing insurance costs.

    Sore toenails, ++karma

    Key word being could. If you don't go to a bootfitter and get evaluated, you're just throwing money blindly at the problem. Sure it MAY work for you the first time, or it may do absolutely nothing and waste your time, comfort, and money. Go see a good, reputable boot-fitter.

    World's finest powder?

    When the weather is right, below 20 degrees, the lake effect powder at Holiday Valley is pretty nice. Too bad the terrain is non-existent.
