    PSIA???????????Professional what????

Central, I live in the Minneapolis, MN area. I am Level I skis (no time to get any father yet) and level III on a snowboard. I am interviewing to be on the snowboard Ed Staff next weekend. They like my park teaching experience (90% of what I have taught the past 4 years or so). --rick

    PSIA???????????Professional what????

So you are saying we should have a bunch of pot smokeing 'sole skiers' teaching the next generation of skiers how to ski? I can see it now.... "Dood, just huck the jump." "Ouch my beck!" "That was killer, just make sure you poles are shorter and your pants are sagging more next time and you...

For those who have been ski instructors . . .

I should mention that I am a level III snowboard instructor. I only have my level I for skiing. I just haven't had the time to go farther on the ski side. What I said above is true no matter what you teach on. --rick

    Scratch or 1080 ?

That triplets triple post was funny. If they are the old 1080s, you might want something a little better all mtn (karma, Foil, PE, MSP). --rick

For those who have been ski instructors . . .

    1) To get certified (PSIA) you need to be working at a ski school. You can't just take the test. You need a ski school director to sign off on you that you have taught for 10 hours or had the equivalent training. B) I have never heard that you automatically get insurance once you are...

    My DIN, and adjusting it??

The DIN is also based on your boot size. Specifically Boot Sole Length (the small number in mm molded on the outside of the heels). On the chart you find your weight, then scroll across to your boot sole length range. That number is your type 1 skier Din. Go down one row for type 2, one more...

Scratch FS WRS vs 1080 Foils... I'm sorry

Yes I did. It was good, but not great. My top 3 all mountain twins are the Karma, Foil and PE. The WRS is probably in that 4 or 5 spot. Like I said, not bad, but not as good as the Foil. In my opinion. --rick

Scratch FS WRS vs 1080 Foils... I'm sorry

I've skied them both and the Foil is a MUCH better all mountain ski than the Scratch. They are both good skis, but the Foil is better out of the park. In the park I would call it a toss up. A personal preference thing. Not knowing what you like in a ski it is hard to say what to get. I own...

    ARV vs. GUN

Those are the dimensions for the 154 Gun. The 188 is 135-101-126. So that would be over 100. Salomon skis ski fantastically. The new Gun is the old Gun Lab footprint, not the old pocket rocket. Just because you hate them (for whatever reason YOU have) doesn't mean they are bad skis. It is...

Pro-Form Decisions, wts (kinda) 182 foils..

    1) You have broken the first three rules of pro-forms (Fight Club reference for the slow of mind). B) Use the Foils in the park. That's what I have as my park ski (in 182) and they rock. If you want a powder ski, get the Gun or Scratch BC or some other real powder ski. The Foil is a great...

    Burton Ronin Stuff For Sale

OK, I have been getting quite a few messages from people with interest. I am going to try to answer as many questions as I can. I am 6' 2" tall and 185-190 lb. The outfit fits me a little baggy, but nowhere near gangster baggy. Both the jacket and pants are shells, so you can wear them in...
