word. If you spin left, come into the jump like you're going to fly off crooked to the right, then time your carve up the lip so you're pointed straight off the jump when you're leaving the lip, make sure to pop and most importantly keep forward, not back. when i was learning i'd forget to pop...

i always found mutes easier, because your body is forward and compact, short reach too, and on tails you're more open and reaching back (i'm assuming you mean true tail)
