    DUMONT'S WIN = BULLSHIT

I want to know who those judges are. Rory who? Silva? If they think someone deserves to lose 5 points for losing a ski on a CORK 10 MUTE and riding it out like it was nothing, then they don't deserve to ever judge a comp again.

    DUMONT'S WIN = BULLSHIT

Lanks, you are so right. And that's the problem with these judges, we need to replace them! For god's sake, the little 10 yr olds watching the event could have picked the winner better!!

    DUMONT'S WIN = BULLSHIT

Olenick shouldn't have been higher than 6th. Marion should have beaten him. The sad thing with that cocky kid is that he actually thinks he deserves what he placed!! At least Tanner, CR and Olsson have the brains to realize Crichton should have been in first after his 2nd run!

    crichton...

Just because the ski popped off on the landing of the last hit does not mean Crichton should get bonus points. But it also doesn't mean he should get deducted points either. The fact is that he stomped a corked 1080 with a grab, had an incredible rest of his run... and a moron named Olenick...

Chrichton, 3rd run, first hit, FLAT FUCKIN 5

Remember, some of these judges are the same boneheads who gave Tufflemire a gold medal at the WSI last spring with an ugly 9, and ugly 12 and one straight ugly grab. I don't care if the best skier on the face of the earth was judging, it doesn't necessarily make him/her a good judge. We would...

Chrichton, 3rd run, first hit, FLAT FUCKIN 5

Those judges need their head checked. It's pretty safe to say that if Crichton's 2nd run had been his 3rd run, they would have given him at least a medal and most likely the gold.

    FIS halfpipe world cup

It's true that FIS has screwed up freestyle in the past, and they've pissed off snowboarders, too, but for the most part they are now adapting to the new realities of professional snow sports. For example, pro snowboarders were not required to compete in all of the World Cup events to qualify...

    whats a lincoln

There's no such thing as a 'sunshine' it's called a SUNRISE. And there's actually a small difference between a sunrise and a Lincoln loop. The sunrise is basically a cartwheel in the air -- you vision spots an object straight in front and there's no 'rolling' over your back. A Lincoln...

    One Day with any Pro.

Wow, what a great question! So many pros, so many resorts!! Well, I would have to say someone like Jimbo Morgan, or maybe Josh Loubek, they rip!

    Chris Turpin is underestimated

As for the WSI pipe event this year, it was outta whack. Here's my 2 cents (from an earlier thread)... The comp was definitely not a complete waste, as there was some very progressive stuff being thrown down (i.e., Turpin's fakie run and Crichton's fakie 9). The best skiers in the world...

    Chris Turpin is underestimated

You guys should check out Turpin's segment in Guinea Pigs, by Aggressive Instincts (www.engsoc.org/~bigmike/skiing/videos), Chris himself endorses it as one of his favourites...

    Quitting the Racing Scene

How about a compromise? Tell your Dad you'd be open to joining the mogul team or some new school club. That way you're still being coached, but you're jumping and doing more enjoyable things than stick chasing.

    WSI- superpipe results

The comp was definitely not a complete waste, as there was some very progressive stuff being thrown down (i.e., Turpin's fakie run and Crichton's fakie 9). The best skiers in the world (Olsson, Hall, Crichton, Turpin, Woods, etc.) definitely showed up and gave their all, but unfortunately the...

Triple twister beats a SMOOTH 1080 in Canada Games.

TV guys are very dumb. (During TSN's coverage, they said table top skiing is where freestyle skiers wear snowboards and take jumps!) TJ Schiller is from BC, and people better watch out cuz he throws down with style, difficulty and consistency like few other newcomers to the scene.

Triple twister beats a SMOOTH 1080 in Canada Games.

TJ's totally right. The 1080 was thrown in an AERIALS comp. It was a super sick trick by any skier's standards, but the dinosaur judging criteria of UPRIGHT AERIALS raped his score because he was not perfectly upright like a pin, but instead tucked with a stylie cross. As dumb as it may seem...

style on rails, skiers dont have it

To everyone who said that the pros lack style because they wave their arms when riding 80 foot quad kinks, you obviously have NO APPRECIATION of what's difficult in the sport of skiing. If you truly knew how difficult it was do do rails like an 80 foot quad kink in an URBAN SETTING, then you...

    Skiing in next Olympics!

FIS definitely is making some changes. In moguls, all off-axis spins are allowed for this coming season. Also, no one is allowed to do any triple or quad twisters -- only doubles are the most one can do. Next year, it is anticipated that straight front and back flips will be allowed. Expect...

    Mogul skiing revolution

Some of you guys need to make some distinctions here. FIS = evil... NOT moguls = evil and NOT moguls = bad, or whatever. Moguls rule. With the exception of nice powder, moguls are the most fun thing to SKI. Everyone who says that 'alternative' mogul events are the future are right because...
