Darren ralves in the hit list

Then why the heck are you even on Newschoolers.com?? If freestyle skiing is boring to you -- which is what this whole Web site is about -- then I don't see any other reason for your posts than to be defensive of your insecurity and stir shit up. With the odd exception such as yourself, NS.com...

    Playback Teaser !

Yikes, why all the animosity about knowing who these these skiers are? Just because one person's never heard of them, you get all defensive. I smell a bit of a complex...

Is it necessary to get personal????

    Playback Teaser !

Better? People's opinions of ski movies are a pretty subjective thing. Personally, I'd rather watch skiers who are tearing it up at the highest levels and who I've actually heard of. I've never even heard of any of David Beaulieu, Jean-Denis Zicat, Justin Meilleur, P-O Plante, Phil Lambert...

    Playback Teaser !

AIP = Aggressive Instincts Productions. They made like 7 movies since back when new school was being practiced by a handful of skiers like the NCAF. Their last movie was for the 2003 season.

Hmmm, "Playback", eh? Sounds kinda similar to "Rewind That" by AIP...

    More WSI Problems

Trust me, I'm not working for the CFSA, and I don't think ever would, though I do know a lot about organized freestyle. So, I didn't "show up here for no better reason" than to defend my alleged employer, the CFSA; I just think there is a lot of ignorant crap floating around in this forum, and...

    More WSI Problems

"It's a Black day for what used to be the WS1" Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that the first couple of years that the WSI was around the CFSA sanctioned it. Nothing's changing, you're just hearing about it now. As for the difference between FIS and the CFSA, there are BIG differences...

    Fuck FIS

Wow, freeskier1316, you obviously don't know anything about this sport. The whole FIS sucks mentality is dead. Get over it and get on with life.

    More WSI Problems

First of all, it's not "FIS" that is sanctioning the event. It's the CFSA, which stands for the Canadian Freestyle Ski Association. This isn't the first time that they've sanctioned the WSI and other events that you probably weren't aware of (i.e., Snow Jam), and probably won't be the last...

    Are skiers rollerbladers

But Dave Crichton also in-line skates. Have you read his interview in one this past season's magazines? (Either Freeskier or FREEZE.) Have you seen the video Guinea Pigs? The facts is that skiing, skateboarding and in-line skating are all sick sports, but yet individual and unique on their...

    BMW X3 invite at Brek

Loubek strikes again! I bet it was his asinine idea to run a best 2 of 3 comp. Who runs best 2 of 3 halfpipe comps? No one, because it doesn't reward the BEST skier of the day, just the most CONSISTENT. (Since when should consistency, and not performance, be the yardstick for giving out tens...

    DUMONT'S WIN = BULLSHIT

illmoney, I'm well-aware of the freezeonline.com article -- check out the thread 'Josh Loubek quote', fool.

    Josh Loubek quote

Obviously there is a subjective aspect to any judged sport, especially one in its infancy such as skiing. Judging by the posts over the past few days, any one of Olsson, Hall, Dumont and Crichton, in various peoples' eyes should have won the event. But that's not the problem at all. In fact...

    Josh Loubek quote

Loubek was the HEAD judge. That means he fixes people's scores when they get out of line. He's not there to get them hot chocolate or sharpen their pencils -- he has a direct say on how the event is judged, how the winner is picked, and which criteria is used. How do you think Crichton's...

    Josh Loubek quote

Straight from the freezeonline.com Web site, following the X-Games Superpipe: 'Don’t talk to us about technical difficulty when [Dumont]’s going five to eight feet bigger than anyone else on every hit.' Is he serious? Is that even factually correct? Does he really think that amplitude is the...

this is why racing makes so much more sence...

MadTrix4Me, it IS a simple start. What could be easier than telling Loubek to take his pretty boy ass for a hike. He's done nothing but regress competitive freestyle over the past few years, and needs to stay far, far away from judging events.

this is why racing makes so much more sence...

The answer is simple: get different judges!! Loubek and his dinosaur buddies need to pack up and go home. As for younger guys like Pep judging, they need to go to judging school first. You can't just put a really good skier in the judge's stand and expect them to properly pick the winner...

    DUMONT'S WIN = BULLSHIT

Murawski, you couldn't be more wrong. It was one of the sickest 1080s thrown in a pipe, EVER. To say it wasn't smooth is insane. The ski popped off because the binding hit the coping awkwardly, not because of the way the trick was performed.
